Pruning outdoors

can anyone give me a good guide for pruning an outdoor clone. Thanks

It depends how big the clone is. If it has a 3 or 4 nodes on it then you can pinch the very top middle portion off. This will make it double but you should wait for a time before doing it again. The plant needs to grow and recuperate first.

I don't prune..I train them sideways...they only get about 16" tall, but however long depending on type of weed.and all the buds go kona!

I dont prune once they are outside, if I do any topping of my plant I try to do it inside before I take them out. I find it takes too long for them to recover and start growing again and you dont want to waste any of the time you got left for vegetation. There are no cloudy days under the growlights.

there's about 4 cloudy days a year here...and even those days, it's still sunny a few hrs...not like back east, or up north!

Rather than prune, i would use the LST method to get multiple colas. That way you dont have to worry about stressing the plant or taking away valuable veg. time. If you decide to prune use the FIM method where you pinch the top but leave the bottom third of the new foliage intact, this should cause the lower branches to shoot right up, leaving you with anywhere from 2-4 tops.

I wish I had it like that hillbilly, in fact this year has been strange altogether. April and May are supposed to be the rainy months, especially April, I know everyone has heard the saying "April Showers bring May flowers". Well my area got less than a 1/2 inch of rain in April, and just a little over an inch for May. Now in June, the last 2 days Im getting nailed with rain, Im happy about that though, just a bit strange.

I don't know if this is right, but I started clipping large fan leaves that were shading the plant underneath, stunting it's growth. So, I started clipping away those large leaves and the plant underneath takes off like a rocket, when the sun hits it producing much more bud. Eh? Am I doing more damage than good. The plants don't look stressed at all. hmmm...
