Guam outdoor grow. 2 plants Afghan Kush. Temps hit high 80's and low 90's. Humidity high 70-80%. Soil Fox Farm's Ocean Forest.

My first mistake: I selected 1 gal containers for short statured plants, more stealthy. They are very short at this point. Maybe 18 inches. Also no nutes in veg, none available.

My second mistake: I topped one and it worked. I FIM'd the other and it didn't work. I guess I FIRM'd it (fuck I REALLY missed). Anyways, my plants were two weeks old and I went to the Philippines for 10 days. When I got back I realized the FIM didn't work and topped it for 2 colas. Here's my mistake, I didn't realize the plants were already flowering. I thought they were just showing sex. So I topped the main stalk while it was in flower. It's trying to flower and grow two colas at the same time. Oh well, I'm learning. Pic of two baby colas...

My third mistake: Plants are hermies. Not sure what happened. Due to high humidity and heat? I left these in the backyard unattended for 10 days while in the Philippines. Only tropical rain watered them. Maybe they had a stretch of several days with no water and stressed? Who knows? One plant had a couple male balls, the other had a small group of 5 or 6 balls. I removed them all. Still hoping for some mediocre bud and some feminized seeds. Seeds are hard to come by on Guam. Took me a year to find these two seeds. I won't cry if I end up with some seed stock.

Here's some more pics of plants at about 5 weeks, I guess about 1 week into flower. Folks, how am I doing? Any suggestions. Can I move to a 3 gallon pot or will I shock the plants at this point. Next grow will be better. Like I said, I'm still learning...

As far as nutes. I have Fox Farm's Grow Big. I've been feeding 4 tsp. per gallon of water, 2 feedings a week. I can get the rest of the Fox Farm nutes (Big Blooms, Tiger Blooms, Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz, Cha Ching). That's one option. Other options available to me: Earth Juice Bat Guano Grow and Primal Harvest, Fox Farm's Bat Guano, Bone Meal and Marine Cuisine, Liquid Karma supplement, B'Cuz A and B and a few others I can't remember. I didn't want to start snapping pictures of all the nutes in the middle of the store...lol.

In a couple pics, you can see one or two fan leaves that are spent near the bottom. That was due to bugs at ground level munching on the leaves. I moved the plants to a rooftop grow and that stopped the bugs. Also on the plant where I screwed up the FIM, you can see the fan leaves near the top where the tips are missing due to the screwed up FIM. Otherwise, I think I am doing moderately okay.

I'm open to all tips, comments and suggestions. Thanks for looking! bongsmilie

if i were you and already in the flowering stage, i will just leave them there.

you don't want to stunt your plant growth.

anyways how's your trip?

good to hear that, did you had some smoke?

anyways, that plant is lookin healthy but i feel bad for you because it got hermie.
Yeah, damn...not sure how that happened. If I had unlimited seeds I'd just start over. I only had two and I got two hermies. Outside those black containers gets smoking hot. Soil temp is fine. It gets really hot during the day and big time humidity. So many variables? Anyways, I'm a total light weight when it comes to smoking. Mediocre bud will be fine with me. If I get some seed stock, that's cool too. I've read a lot of posts on here about people that said hermie buds can be pretty decent. I'm hoping for the best...

that's good. you can smoke hermie buds but it will not be that potent but you can get high though because the plants cannot really focus much on producing pistils and trichs, try asking some of your reliable friends if you can get some seeds and pop it out.

i'm not yet that good enough on planting, though someone here might be able to help you out.

but try to save the seeds from your hermied plants and maybe you could get a female out of it, and just clone it, but i think the seed will also be hermie, i'm not 100% sure though.

goodluck on your growing man. :)

I would not move them now! If they are flowering you will stress them even more IMO! I would just leave them and it is what it is. Just know for next time not to fuck with them while they are in flowering stage. When I screw with my plants I stop one, two weeks before switch to 12 as to let then recover. As for the seeds being hermies there is a good chance that they wiil be but if it was a stress thing you may be ok, probably not though :( you will have to watch closely. I have a plant that I harvested 3 weeks ago and left a couple of side branches on it to see if I could stress it into herming and nothing, have not watered it since harvest and it is just getting moisture frome the dampness in the empty res also no nutes or much light and the little girl is still going with no signs of seeds so stressing is not always the cause of herming. I think some plants are way more prone to do it. I have not had a hermie in 3 years of growing from seed (all feminized) but stay away from the known hermie brands and strains. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm not gonna chance a transplant. Like you said, it is what it is. I can do much better next time. Even though I've made a few mistakes, I'm having a blast and learning a lot. I think I'll be close to finishing around July 21. Then I'll see if I'm any good at harvesting and curing. Thanks for the replies everyone. Any comments on nutes?

Use them lol. Surely there is some organic materials that are available, I have in the past, used shore bird poop (really old and composted lol) that was amazing! Me and a buddy took a boat out to an old Crommerant nursery and filled it with poop for our outdoor grow and it was epic lol. As for the soil grow not sure as I always used time release stuff on my outdoor garden, or composted poop and stuff!

did you start these plants indoors? if you did there not used to that environment so that may have stressed them to go hermie. im still a noob myself so dont quote me. have you looked into SCROG growing? you could use bigger pots and still have short bushy plants and have more bud. you could craft individual screens for each pot that way you could easily move them. as for nutes ive heard foxfarms soil formula is good for beginners plus is 43$ at htgsupply for the trio pack.also another one i always see is general hydroponics but that seems like more of a advanced nutes system.
