Seems like a consensus is forming from those I have PM'd on the subject.

#1 Heat Stress from lights or fan (wind burn)

#2 Nute burn

I would keep an eye on my thread in case we get some other responses. For what it's worth I think it's #1 too. Trim the plant up and adjust lights and fans. See if that doesn't fix the issue. If it doesn't, check your feed sched. for this specific strain with other growers. Some are more delicate and react poorly to normal feeding at this late stage of the grow.
Thanks, I agree that it's #1. I will continue to trim the leaves to remove the brown parts. And will make an adjustment to the lighting, fans and humidity and just keep monitoring. I don't think it's nutes related, I would think that if it was it, the issue would appear thru out the rest of the plant. I love it when the team comes to the rescue. Thanks for PMing this for me.

I'm gonna stick with my first thought, although I'm not arguing Aim, (first I saw to suggest possible temp/ wind), if it was mine, I would skip one feed.;-)
Either way, it doesn't matter 'who was right', as long as we get the issue resolved.

Thanks, I will keep a close watch. Thanks for your help today. Peace!

Hmmm didnt know plants can get burned by fans too...ill need to adjust my fan as well to prevent any 'burn' issues. Thanks Prosperian for the new insight!

i had a plant hermie due to wind burn...one bud that was pounded by a rotating fan formed some sacks.had the same genes in other places that was fine.

I'm wondering if leaving the fan on during lights out may have contributed to the problem. My bubba didn't seem to be getting better. So I thought maybe she was root bound. So I did something that a couple people advised against. I repotted her to a bigger pot. Figured it couldn't be any worst than what's already going on. I opened up her space added the fan to the timer, so now the fan goes off with the lights. Right now I just trying anything to savage her. Hate to lose her. Things were going very well - she my flowering attempt Hey Did I really mess up by repotting her. I was very careful not to disturb the roots during the repotting. I just lifted her out and place it in the bucket. I then flushed her with PH water with super thrive added. Please give me your opinions and comments. Thanks! Peace!

Any recent pics man?
I don't think fan on with lights off is doing it, I always do that, though Flaming Pie DID educate me, that it is not necessary.

Looks like it's still continuing to get worse on that one bud, but is it progressing to more of the plant also?

Nope it's still isolated to the main cola. It is starting it spread to a couple more leaves , but still on the main cola.

thanks!

We need to get this figured out. You have like 25+ days left before you can harvest. I was pretty confident about the heat being the cause but it does take new growth to show if it has made a difference. I don't see any new growth on the buds and that concerns me.

Can you get a temp reading from the top of that bud? I have a temp gun and a remote temp probe I hang from my fixture at the same height as the buds. This tells me exactly what temps I have going on at a specific height.

In small grow rooms you can have huge fluctuation in temperatures, add a fan or two and you have all kinds of hot air thermals. Get the picture?

Hi Prpsperian, I think the problem is heat related. My lights are almost at maximum height, I still raise them a little more and my plant is pretty tall also. As we know high rises, so as I'm reaching the top of the of my boxes, the top of the plants sit in the maximum heat. I usually keep the boxes closed, so the they are baking the top of the plants. I have a fixture with two 55 watt 2700k cfls, four 42 watt 2700k cfls and two 26 watts 6500k cfls that's a total of 330 watt at damn near maximum height and the bubba is now in a 5 gal bucket and the bubba itself is 42 inches tall. I have turned off 2 bulbs and I'm leaving the top of the box open to let some of the heat out. I noticed that the leaves are moist and pliable in the mornings and in a couple hour after the lights come on the top leaves become dry and easily crumble. I guess my boxes without better ventilation won't work for plants this large.

Is there any way you could pull your main over to get it away from the light, and bring your light back down some to get the fan leaves more?
Part of the lack of new growth Pros. is mentioning could be because your light isn't getting too much to them from the looks of the latest pics.
Can you blow your fan from the bottom straight up to disperse the heat from under your light/ and space to the cola?

I have a fan on the bottom blowing up and I had a fan at the top, I removed the fan from the top. I have a clip on light with shield to provide light to the lower branches. I can try and move the plant a little to side without crushing the side colas. I had to tie a couple up for support they were getting to heavy.

Man, sounds like you have made every possible correction. Just have to wait it out and keep her as cool as you can.

Hey guys,Gs3000,I would like to offer my 2¢.I think you should change your bulbs to all 26w,I noticed the higher wattage ones are a lot hotter.Ive used the 42w ones,I cant put my hand on them like i can the 26w.Make sure none of your fans are blowing directly on the plant. If your at max height make sure your fans aren't blowing bulb heat directly on your tops. That's all I got related to heat. What kind of pots are you using?Water???Hydro???Sorry, man just jumping on your thread, trying to help:)

Hey B166er420, thanks for the advice. You are right about the heat from the bigger CFL bulbs, they do generate a lot of heat and I'm thinking that is the cause of my problems. I just moved to heme depot 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled in for drainage. Using faucet water Ph'd to 6- 6.5 . Soil is a mixture of three different soils with perlite added in. Using FF nutes Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. I will switch out the bulbs as a next step. Thanks!
