I live in New York where its not technically legal to harvest or purchase yet but i wanna order seeds anyways. I would like to order them from attitude. I am a real newb & of course i have a few questions & concerns lol. Like will i actually get them if i order? Is the shipping discrete enough to go smooth? Which type of seeds should i get? I always thought you wanted them fems but i recently read that isn't the case, please help with that. Let me know if anyone is in the same boat & has had some personal experience doing this lol. Any other info would be great to, much appreciated :)

95% of all seed orders make it from my observation of these forums, and threads like this are very very common.
Feminized seeds are the best in my opinion there is a common myth that they are more likely to produce hermies but it was proven wrong on mythbusters

There's plenty on these subjects on RIU if you look around. Here's my personal view:

1. Attitude has been having some problems getting orders to the US lately. I'd use Sea of Seeds or Herbies Head Shop. Sea of Seeds is cheapest, but takes about two weeks. Herbies is fastest at around 10 days but I've gotten mine in 6 days sometimes and I'm near you. Buy the guarantee delivery in case they don't show up. I've gotten my last 12 orders from all of them, no problem but some times people don't. All are legit, though.

2. Feminized- some love them, some hate them. They are easier since you have no males, but they tend to hermie and produce male pods which release pollen and create seeds. Some breeders are better at it than others. I'd look at Dinafem, Sweet Seeds, Sannie, Breeders Choice and Next Generation for feminized....there are a bunch of others. These are my choices.

Even if the seeds are confiscated, it won't be a problem. You won't get arrested and no one will be coming to your house. But if you are a nervous type, and won't sleep at night til they arrive- don't order.

SSHZ - total noob question: will a hermie plant still produce flowers, just with seeds, or is the plant a loss as far as smoke-able product goes? Thanks!

You will still get bud just not as much and seeded.
I can personally recommend just a few breeders, that if you order just about anything from them you are sure to find a amazing plant in the bunch.

TGA SubCool (My room is almost all TGA now)
DNA Genetics
and
Reserva Privada

I'm sure many people will come along and say I don't know jack.
But ive grown multiple strains from each of them and many other breeders over the years.
But these are the 3 that I still order from, They were the best by far imo and I found a keeper of each strain I ordered from them.

Edit: I ordered from attitude in the last month and no issues here.
Have made many many orders from them never had a issue.

Subcool doesn't do feminized. DNA/Reserva Privada are basically the same company and they are fine too.

Yes, flowers still develop on a seeded plant. But lets step back a second. It's best not to have any seeds cause 1) once a plant is seeded, it stop wasting it's energy on bud production and starts on seed production so less quality, and less bud weight. Ideally, you want a bud to properly finish all the way so it maximizes it's resin production. Seeds are also a pain to sift out of a bud. I've seen total bud weight as much as 80% seeds too.

Many companies do produce feminized seeds that don't hermie at all, unless you really stress the plant i.e. light leaks, too hot in the room, over dose of fertilizer, not watering properly, too small a pot for the plant, etc. The company's I listed seem to use a different process to produce their beans and often don't have problems but others like i.e. Dutch Passion, Nirvana and Mr. Nice come to mind first for constant hermie problems. The 2 strains I am doing most now, Sweet Seeds "Green Poison" and Next Generation "Grape God" have not produced any male flowers at all after numerous grows of them. They are both very stable.

Lastly, I have some friends who prefer a little seedage in their buds cause it helps the plants finish off well and quickly and gives the plants a richer, fuller smoke. Personally, I like to find `1 seed per plant for future use, since they often are females.

budfever and SSHZ - many thanks for the clear answers. I'm just starting to do my seed research, pretty sure I'll go with Attitude or Sea of Seeds. The breeder recommendations from both of you are beyond appreciated. Thanks!
