Ozone Generator or Carbon Filter?

Hello All, so my girls have gotten EXTRA stinky lately.

I have a small 12" x 6" carbon scrubber connected to a 250 cfm fan. My space is 3.5' x 3.5' x 6'. The filter is only 3 weeks old.

Would I be better off upgrading my carbon scrubber or purchasing an ozone generator?

Please leave feedback WITH personal experiences, as I have never used an ozone gen & I dont know that they actually work.

Thanx in advance!

Once your space is closed for several hours, do you smell ganja? Your filter is the right size for the CFM of your fan, so there is no need to upgrade.

O3 generators do work, but they should not be used to exhaust air anywhere in an enclosed space where people or animals reside. The carbon filter should suffice unless it is poor quality.

try adding some ONA gels or blocks to pick up any wiff left by the cf, i run rhino pro cf( i think there one of the best) 6, 7 and 8 inch and with smelly strains i still get a whiff escaping out of the tents(even with negative pressure) and well placed ONA blocks deal with that whiff lol or and the safe to use round are plants

yes it is airtight as can be seen by the negative pressure shown on my poly walls. And the smell was contained, but just recently became very noticeable. It is a cheap, "no name filter" and may actually be my problem I guess. As for the O3, my cab is in my basement, which is primarily used as storage and for laundry. I would place it on a timer to come on at night (same as my lights) which would minimize any exposure I would have to O3. Im only down there during the first 1 hr of (lights on) in order to check them/prune/water/clean/etc...

How much does the maintenance of ONA blocks cost? (ie replacement times, etc) for the size of my cab, how many would you recomend? My basement is prob 20x20x7 at least.

If you don't spend much time in an O3 enriched atmosphere, you should be OK. One benefit of the O3 is that you should kill any mold in your basement!

However, if you vent your exhaust back into the same basement as your grow, you will be pulling O3 back into your grow. Some people have noted O3 damage on their plants.

http://www.hydroponica.biz/ona-products.html, you can find the block cheaper near you, have a look a round, but herre is a list of some the products, as for what would work for you. its to say, so many factors can add to this as you know, give you an idea, i have a room with 4 3m tents, that had ww in, i use 2 ona block for 10 pound and replace each cycle, 8 weeks,( but there fine when i replace them, i just do it out of good practice0, i place one inside the room with the tents and one out side to pick up the flow of air coming out of the room and no whiff, they are good and safe,

Ok, thanks for the help guys. It is very much appreciated. As for the ONA blocks, it seems that the cost might b a bit high in comparison to the O3 generator ($120, Amazon). Maybe I will place the O3 gen on the opposite side of the basement, and experiment with the timer. Maybe go 6 hrs on during the night, 3 hrs in either direction from when I might b in the basement.

Again, thank you all for your input!
