hey, just 'in you're experience' what percentage of weight is lost after drying. I figure around 70-75%? but what about SUPER dense buds? Thanks guys!

When I grew outdoors I averaged 5 ounces of bud before drying, just tested to see, and after trimming chopping and doing the hic up with glass jars the weight of the bud went down to 2-3 ounces so lost more than half the weight when all said and done. Hope this helps a little

Felt bad about what u said that no one replies to your posts 11 times in 5 mins. I'm trying to change that up some. And it really depends on how u do the curing. Like before I found our about hic up method I just let the buds dry till well they were dry and smoke was harsh to smoke and 5 ounces became 1 ounce, no lie so I did research and found out by putting buds in jars for 12 hours open and 12 hours and repeat till the bid isn't sticky and it smoked way better and weighted out more

Nah man it doesn't mold, see 12 hours with lid closed always the buds to get dense and moist, but because u don't exceed the 12 hours it can mold because it dries right up in the 12 hours with the lid off, I do this for usually a week before its ready and it's a huge difference

getting back to threads topic, as stated in a book, it's around 14% of wet bud mass. This average result is hitting quite close to what I get. Maybe if big fat indica buds with big stems inside it would weight like 16-18%.. I doubt that it could get more than that.
2-3 ounces out of 5??? so after drying you get 40-60%??? dude sorry but I don't believe that unless you started drying them before harvesting/weighting..

I don't weigh stems in it I only weight buds, after u have hung it before u cure it all u half to do us your trimmings break the buds free of stems and then do the jar method. And u keep some of the water weight in the buds this way. It's so much smoother smoke.getting back to threads topic, as stated in a book, it's around 14% of wet bud mass. I do exactly the same, I keep them till the surface dries, separate from stems and weight before curing, then drop them in a jar with boveda humidipak 62% and leave it for one week. Even if buds are too dry, boveda pack releases humidity so they become fluffy like a peace of cloth. After that taste is amazing. After a month or two its even better.. I still can't believe that you get that much..

Maybe outdoor growing produces Harvey buds haven't harvested my indoor yet so I can't say of the results will be the same only time will tell. I also keep the buds in dark place when curing I ass no light at all. Do u do this as well? They say that the buds will become lighter when lights absorbed so I try and keep them worm and in a nice dark place.
