Question on light coverage?!?!

Im building a budding room with the inside dimensions being 8.5' x 10.5' Im looking at getting some high yield hoods thats are 33" x 27". They will be 1000w each. would I have enough coverage with 4 of them or would I need 6? Or........ would 4 3'x3' hoods work? The room will be full so I want maximum coverage without needless electricity being used.

A 1000w HPS will cover a 5x5 space, so in terms of light coverage, it should be perfect.

Just round it off to 100sqft 4-1ks would give you 40wpsqft which IMO is the bottom end for really dense buds.
6 would be 60wpsqft,and is real close to what I run,as far as WPSFT.

My buds are really solid and dense, and I use around 65-70wpsft,No fluffy nugs here!!GL on keeping the grow Temps under control.

So all of the people who are using with 600w HID in a 4x4 (37wpsf) or 1000w in a 5x5 (40wpsf) are at the bottom end? So you're saying people should cram 2 600w in a 4x4 or 2 1000k (or a 600w and 1000w) in a 5x5?

I dont grow in tents,But as far as Wpsft Again IMO,Much rather use 60 opposed to 40wpsft.
Sayed nothing about Craming anything in a tent there for camping.

I can say you will notice a big improvement from 40, To 60wpsft.

Even in a room or a tent of the same size, unless it's not a squared room, it would seem like your hoods would be lying on top of each other. And hey, tents are for growing now too! We outnumber you. lol

I suggest that you get the dimensions of the hoods you plan on purchasing first, then take into account space for ducting, and then just put as many as you can fit into your space which, I could be wrong, but I'm guessing is around 4 (5 at the max). Keep in mind temps are going to be up there, so have a plan...

To give an example of how a certain space works for me at exactly 50 wpsf (3-600w hps hortilux super hps , 3-600w sunmaster mh conversion, total initial lumens 421,000 mixed spectrum , homemade bat-wing style reflectors with sun spreaders, magnetic ballasts,7 foot high ceiling ,low pressure aero, no media, 33 plants, vegged for 1 month, a pheno of Reserva Headband that produced the best out of 72 seeds, modified version of Fatmans DIY hydro nutes, 40 gallon reservoir, 90 green 360 sprayers , temps always in the ideal- .73-.78 gpw.

If I went all hps the yield would probably go much higher ( around 1 gpw) but with side by side identical room/strain research I concluded the quality was superior with 50/50 (as opposed to all hps) hps/mh in terms of nugget density. Just an example and a few details to give you a better understanding of the chain of variables that can affect yield.
