id say chop. 2 weeks in a hot dry area with no water will do bad things to your plants. also, you dont want your lights going un-attended for 2 weeks. if its dry enough to completly dry out in 3-4 days you could just make shure everything is staked up good, give it one last heavy watering then shut off the lights and turn the exhaust way down, and give it 2 weeks of dark. or just chop it.

If I water heavily and then just leave it in the dark, wouldn't that cause concern for mold?

Yes, your buds will mold from the inside out, I lost a whole crop of kali mist to this scenario.

Went on vacation, they needed another week minimum to mature. So I watered them good. Put the pots in trash bags and sealed them tight around the stem with a zip tie.

Came back from vacation and sometime during the week my breaker tripped for the light.

Forced to harvest, I was greeted with mold in my buds next to the stems. Lesson learned.

I would just harvest the day before you leave. When I start growing, I will time it for when I'm home. Plus, I'm paranoid and I work 3-11, so I will veg from 9p-1p so I'm home most of the vegging cycle. After I flower, it will be from midnight to noon. I want to be home as much as possible while the lights are on due to fire risks and possible LL visits.

So I'm thinking the best thing for me to do would be to cut them down and hang them up in my closet to dry with a fan going and just hope for the best when I get back.

Either chop early and hope for the best or have someone u trust (friend, family member, etc.) babysit them until u get back from vacation. Wish u the best of luck. Keep growing :blsmoke:

Some people don't cut and hang dry, they slow dry in the pot. It's more of a bitch to trim, but it'll give your plants as much time as possible to finish. By the looks of it, you need another 10 days or so. Maybe two weeks.

So give them one last really good watering right before you leave. You can keep the lights on the timer. When you get back, they'll have had another week to grow and will be in the process of a slow, slow dry. Keep the air circulating to prevent mold, and keep the odor control going!

Good luck!

PS - if you fear fire, then just put the pots out in a room. There will be some light cycle due to the normal light coming through the windows. Keep the air circulating as stated above.
