No way dude, if you can't even find the CFM for a fan then it's not going to be good enough for your carbon filter.

IMO the last thing you should skimp on is anti detection equipment, I understand the budget issue but I wouldn't do a grow if I couldn't afford decent fan and filter built for the job, the risk is just to great. I would skimp on the lights or anything else first. btw give more info on your grow area and budget wishes for people to help you better.
I do not know what your space is like but these are what I bought.

Get real...I know people want to handle newbies with kid gloves but sometimes we can't allow stupid shit to be allowed to be posted as semi-intelligent shit.
Fans from Wal-Mart are meant to blow across your plants to strengthen the stems and allow for the hot air to be pushed away from plants. They have no way to actually help in odor reduction.

* Lost Coast OG clone (easiest clone I've ever had)
* Cotton Candy
* 2 Rokerij Amnesia clones
Flowering:
* Rokerij Bubbles that is taking forever to finish
* Rokerij Amnesia that looks damn close to being done way too early (only 50 days of 12/12)
* Lost Coast OG
* Rokerij Silver Shiva - has the weirdest smell of any plant I've grow so far, hard to even describe.
Drying:
* 3rd clones from Pineapple Express
* Lost Coast OG clone (easiest clone I've ever had)
* Cotton Candy
