Thanks coach, you see this stuff on tv and now that its really happening is bizarre. Hey everyone keep your eyes peeled cuz I think these fires were done intentionally. Theres like 5 fires burning all of a sudden around our state. If you live by the mountains watch out. By the way I'm stayin with my two hoses.

Forget the hoses though, when power is gone your water probably is too. Get your important shit packed (in the car) now!!! And if they say get out, get out man!!! You do not want to live through a fire, nor die for your possessions. It can all be replaced, you can not.

Anyhow, the potash will help the plants, i don't think they will mind the smoke. So you should be cool, really hope the fire turns away from you.

I was under mandatory evacuation last year from Waldo-Canyon.

Shit was insane, once the fire jumped the ridge, it was like the apocalypse had hit the Springs.

I feel your pain sir, believe me, I was evacuated for 6 fuckin days.

Got my important shit, my meds, my red-card..all my glass (lol)
But, dude, get the fuck outta there!...

I speak with love, and from experience bro, traffic is crazy when a wildfire is occurring..people driving down the wrong side of the road, driving through medians, it's scary bro...

And, man, as much as it sucks to keep watching the coverage on tv,i know it made me sick to my stomach, but you must keep informed where that fire is.

Seriously, be safe. And remember that the smoke can be harmful, to you and your animals too.

Last year, we were near the High Park fire, and had to deal with smoke and ash on a regular basis. I had an infant, still developing her lungs, and a cat with respiratory problems. Unfortunately, one night, the smoke overtook my cat and she's no longer with us, and my infant was coughing and having trouble sleeping until it was contained. Moral: Don't underestimate the affects of ambient smoke.

You may want to get out of dodge, just for the sake of not breathing the smoke.*

I wanted to give you a” like”...but I'm not going to” like” that your poor cat didn't survive, so sorry about that bro.

I've recently acquired a cat, at first apprehensively. But, now me and my cat are best buds, cats are different than dogs, where you sort of have to” earn” their loyalty.

But once that relationship is established..cats are very loyal to their master.
Great tip on the smoke inhalation...that shit can get to you, without much warning..

I know I felt nauseous throughout Waldo-Canyon.

• ___ Don't tie up telephone lines (notify friends and relatives by e-mail where to contact you)
• ___ Establish an evacuation plan, travel route, probable destination
• ___ Fill bathtubs, sinks, and containers with water
• ___ Fill evacuation vehicle gas tank
• ___ Follow any official agency's evacuation instructions
• ___ If instructed, tie large white cloth to front door knob
• ___ Leave one light on in each general area so firefighters can see your house in dark and smoke
• ___ Lock doors and windows
• ___ Make safety equipment obvious for firefighters (spigots, ladders, chain saws, hoses, etc.)
• ___ Move overstuffed furniture away from windows
• ___ Park evacuation vehicle in the garage heading toward street and travel route
• ___ Place a ladder against the roof of the house on the side opposite the approaching fire
• ___ Plug air vents and openings that are close to the ground
• ___ Prepare an "information note" to leave on the door detailing who you are and where you have gone
• ___ In your "information note" tell where flammables are (such as lawnmower gas, ammo, chemicals - move them all into one place)
• ___ Release any livestock in the area
• ___ Remove combustible items from around the outside of the house
• ___ Remove lace, nylon, or light material drapes and curtains
• ___ Soak burlap sacks, small rugs, or large rags in containers
• ___ Turn off appliances, thermostats, fireplaces, stoves
