Question about misters for Aero

I have used Ez-Clone misters in the past and was wondering if any of you guys recommended another type of mister. I am using a 1200GPH pump to power 80 misters. Know of any that would cover the container better than these or are these the best ones for the project? I am running 1/2" pvc covering the 4'x4' area. The container is 7.5" high and the misters are up 2.5" from the bottom. Thanks in advance!

You might find they would have much better spray pattern if you increased your pvc size. When i changed my delivery to 3/4" it was a world of difference. And on my larger vegger i used 1" to 3/4" to 1/2" and this solved my dilemma.

What i learned was run the largest size from the pump as far as you can then the next largest and so on. Good luck.

Like SS1 said--- lines comming from the pump decrease in size going to the sprayers. IMO your pump isn't large enough for 80 misters (sprayers) for a 4x4 area---- its

only rated around 0.16 hp----also, my first choice are inline pumps that have internal cooling fans. From my experience with with aero, you need a minimum of 20 psi to your sprayers.

I understand wanting a cheap, quick solution------but you gotta break some eggs to make a cake.

If you decide on a larger pump, I suggest you search online for "aquatic eco systems"----giant retailer with lots of great toys.

I thank you for your responses. I will start with what I have while I wait on the shipping for the others. Do you guys have experience with any shallow well pumps from like harbor freight? I can get a 1hp for like $119. and run the intake down into the res. I do like the idea of decreasing the size from 1" to 3/4", etc. But do you think that will get me the pressure needed? I have units like this in the past; however, I have never run them from a single pump, so this will be new to me. Again, I appreciate your responses!

I think I will go with 2x 1200 GPH pumps to run each 2' x 2' tray. It has worked in the past. I was just wondering about the misters. EZ clone seems to be the mister of choice. I was wondering if any of the others are worth anything..

Just a fyi.. those EZ-Clone nozzles are just marked up Antelco nozzles.. Buy Antelco's and save you some money. For low pressure, you probably won't find a better nozzle. Just make sure you adequately size your pipping and pumps.

No------CAUTION: so far not impressed with the quality of their products.

May I suggest using a bulkhead fitting and running through the tank.

I have never run them from a single pump, so this will be new to me. Again, I appreciate your responses!

DANGER DANGER! Much safter to run synced dual smaller pumps (each being powered from a different circuit breaker).
Sorry----Just saw your post about duals. I don't like submersible pumps (rez heat)

Now---- about pump filters. Those small plastic sprayers have about 1/16" hole to spew the nutes------so good filtering is critical.
I've found a very effective way of doing that-----thats very cheap and durable. Have pics if interested.

Shame we don't know each other-----I have four $300 3/4hp high head pressure pumps for sale.
