I agree. Raw meat gets its own disposable bag every time.
I don't like reusing a bag that was previously holding raw, unfrozen, chicken. Just seems a bit unsanitary.

People will resist anything won't they? To me this seems like a purely positive move. If your only reason for opposing this legislation is that it's less convenient, then you're part of the problem. Our habits are having undeniable effects on the environment, but nobody cares![]()
good point. I don't buy much meat for our house so it doesn't always happen into my mind.Any place that sells meat? My disposable bags almost always have some residue on them.

True, aside from the meat, it's not generally an issue.

this person right here gets it.
and cann, i am not suggesting the use of plastic bags, i wouldnt expect you to go after such an obvious angle, you didnt try very hard on that one.
good debating everyone thanks for all the different responses.
......snip...."attempt to sell crack in a plastic bag" charge?? ....snip....
Are you seriously suggesting that the paper bags I'd have to use now are better for the environment? Not only is that "making lampshades" of trees that were planted where there once were forests ... but the pulp industry is famously filthy. And if you think I'm gonna carry six reusables in my car, into the store, in&out of my washing machine ... please rethink.
Now tell me about teh awesome. Really ... convince me. cn
I know for a fact some of you that are saying it is unsanitary to use cloth bags are smarter than that. Do you not do any laundry? You can easily mark a bag as meat only. Put it in with the kitchen laundry and keep it clean. This isn't rocket surgery.
You can also use the plastic bags provided at the meat section and bag the meat in a bag that is clean. It still uses a plastic bag, but not as many in the long run. I do this anyway due to cross contamination.
I think some of you are just arguing to be an ass.
where i shop, they have little tiny plastic bags at the checkout for meat products. they are too small to be reused as a dog poop picker upper for me, but for anyone else with a normal sized dog they will work just fine.
oh, and the paper bags are from recycled paper.
uhhhhh people arent feeding them to animals.
it has to do with the littering aspect of them, and how they manage to get into the waterways and oceans where they look like food to animals.
you really just have no idea do you?
Is that even possible? Pics or it didn't happenFuck a turtle.![]()
At least 75% less consumables in those bags.![]()
challenge accepted!

lmao. I hope you're kidding.
or are you! I wish we had a suspicious looking icon to use here.........
I'm not going to leave a salmonella-soaked bag sitting in my laundry hamper for a week while I get enough other shit together to wash. Not to mention the fact that plastic, unlike fabric, is known for holding moisture in. I'd rather just throw the plastic bag that was holding the meat in the trash. Every meat section I've ever been to had those shitty thin rolls of bags that tear and leak if you look at them funny. If they stocked better bags, I'd have no need for plastic shopping bags in other areas really. I use paper otherwise. This house is heated with wood, so we save a great big bundle of bags for winter. Either way though, a ban on plastic bags is stupid. There are perfectly valid uses for them.
