res temps in ebb and flow.

I have an ebb and flow set up and with summer comes the heat and my res temps go from 64 when lights come on and end at 72. Is that much change going to hurt me? There is lots of airation thru the day I'm just concerned with thentemp change.

I've never had a problem running in the mid 70s.

Normally you don't need to worry about res temps with ebb and flow.

Normally is what exactly? With outside temps reaching over 100 degrees the res would reach in the 80s. Try to keep under 68 I was meaning the 10 degree flucuate. Excuse spelling. Will that not be optimal

Yea, been using ebb n flow for while now (yr plus) temps DO matter... my growth slows when it 76+ very noticable difference. Just purchased chillers myself actually cause my temps were 75 - 80 daily range. Also yes my rez is outside my grow rooms. 65-68 is ideal growth from what i have personally seen.

Mine are running 56 when lights come on. When they go out they are now 67 when they were reaching 72+. I'm cooling 2800 watts with a 1hp chiller and also I think finally got it under control. Thanks all.chill 3 rezs.. and I set chiller at 54 as of now to deal with near 100 degree temps outside

I live in that 100 degree summer temp also-----must be a glutton for punishment running water culture . I agree with with ricky about what is optimum-----trade off as to cost and labor for part of the year.

R your lights air cooled? If not, doing so will help alot.

Use fabric pots with a CoCo medium and when its hot flood more often for less time, so they have time to breathe.basically using the unit just as a watering device until temps drop, assuming you can't move the rez to a cooler location.

If the outside temps are 100 you should probably have an AC anyway. Normally means when you are running your system correctly. If your room temps are so high that your res temps become dangerously high, you need to correct your room temp.

use a marine cooler as your rez...will keep your water sol. cooler and when you add a 2l of frozen water it lasts me for 5 days.

Picture with screwed up leaf is 78* temp water... picture of new growth is 63*

i think its fair to say temps do matter. The screw up leaf picture is how all my plants started to grow for a good week until i got the chillers and new growth is blooming extremely quick. Cannot stress how big a deal water temps made difference for me.

so nobody wanna answer my question? cis it safe for my res to go from 58 when lights come on ending as high as 72 but saw 75 once.

Higher you go the easier for algea an everything else to go wrong...

if every morning its in 60s than thats good but everytime the system feeds plants it will only get excellent growth when temps are lower.

they wont die im sure but they will start to look like my leaf pictures above. If i let it stay that bad for awhile who knows what disaster i wouldve had.

we seem to have it under control now. built a manifold for the cooling of 3 reses. works ok but the hottest part of summer on the way. will be getting a 12000btu mini split to have total control of the environment
