Insofar as Hitler did not seek to have Japan open an eastern front against the USSR I can agree with your assertion. I think what Skunkdoc meant was that the red army defeated the nazis and had already taken the initiative and changed from defensive to offensive posture even before D-Day and the opening of a western front in Europe. Merica didn't defeat the nazis, Russia did.
