what matters is amps
at 800 watts u drawing 5.8 0r more amps
14 gauge cord rated for 5.9 and u should never exceed 85% of rating so as others said u overloaded and lucky u didnt have fire
do what u mentioned and split load

Idk but 14 gauge is rated at 15 amps..
not for power tranmission

Lol I don't know what that means just that their is a 15amp fuse attached to my 14 gauge and Google says 15 but some people say an AC can be on 20. Could you please elaborate I'm no electrician or anything

well if that was true then cord would not be getting hot
and btw how long is cord?

Don't take any chances with electrical...the snake said it right with 12 gauge. Extension cords are shit and shouldn't be used in your grow...ROMEX or BX wiring only. You don't want to get this part wrong.

This helps, but still need a max wattage per AWG gauge as labeled on my extension cords.

I don't have a large enough indoor op to justify the expenditure.

Peace

cord be ok just split load
how long is cord and u sure it aint 16 g ?
I'm good for now, cords are nice and cool after dividing usage

But the math variables on cord power loads threw me for a loop,

What I originally assumed should be a simple formula turned into calculus.:bigjoint:
