I dropped my nano the Arkansas river a year ago when I was too drunk to compose myself. Took it out stuck it in a box of instant rice, and two days later it worked like nothing ever happened.

Same thing happened to me two yrs ago, course I couldnt get mad, im the knucklehead who left it in the pocket. Heres what I did, put it in a small bubble envelope and sent it to apple...told em I bought it the yr before, how much I loved it and then last wk it just stopped working...and could it be repaired? A wk later they sent me a brand new Ipod...freeoooo! Gotta love apple!! Sometimes companies will do that, good will to their customers and the customers spread the good word!

There's a difference between dropping in water and quickly retrieving and having been soaked in washing machine for the whole cycle. The rice trip normally works but I say not this time mang. Have warranty?

No. Sadly this is the second one I have sent to the washing machine. I've only used this one twice. That is why I like to buy the little shuffles. Cheap, I have way more songs that I love than it can hold, so I never have to skip around, clip it to my shirt sleeve and work. I just removed it from the rice, it actually felt a little damp, but it is wild brown rice, so it could just be me and the too much coffee I;ve had today.

I plugged it into the computer for charging and all looks well. 6 days in rice. I'll report back after full charge.

First of all...did you thank her? If not do so.. save your money and stop buying crap apple products..
Second .. yes .. put it into a bag of rice.. the rice attracts Asians to your product and they will then see it and fix the product for you.. :)
Seriously though.. the rice trick works..

It worked. After charge I fired it up and this is the first thing I heard. Of course, as the first words were sung it immediately made me think of Racer's comment....

I ran my old ass flip phone through both washer and dryer.

It didn't fare as well. :-(
Probably didn't use static guard dryer sheets, did ya? That's the trick that most people miss. Don't use liquid fabric softener on your electronics, always use the static guard dryer sheets.

Uncle Sam thanks you, though. Now, you'll be getting a device that can be more accurately monitored.
