Purple leaves on seedling?

My WWxBB seedling is about 4 days old and seems to be doing ok... But today I noticed the undersides of the first true leaf set is purple, and the tips of the second are a little purple as well. Also, the leaves are cupping upwards... wondering if it's from the fan or the light being too close? I have one 60w CFL on it just a few inches away with a small little fan blowing on it. Soil is FFOF. Light is on 24/0 and temps don't go below 65.

Any ideas? Is this normal?

well some strains do have purple or color to them, im not familiar with wwxbb but some strains do have purple in them. if youre humidity is good, try moving the light a bit more away do you know what youre ph is ..?

Ph would b a good place to start. I've had a couple seedlings do this but they came out of it once they got more established.

White widow x blueberry?

nice selection on dirt ffof is a well liked soil by many where I'm located.

It's white widow x big bud from female seeds. It's not a purple strain at all so that's why I thought it was weird... Could easily be the humidity, didn't think about that. pH run off is 5.5 and I'm watering with 7.0-7.5 tap water, so I don't think pH should be a problem.

Purple veins and stems say I need phosphorous.

Upper leaf curl is magnesium.

got any pictures?

Since these are the lower leaves and you did not mention this was on the new growth I would not worry. Any issues you have will be shown on the most recent growth.

On a side note I would say give them some darkness. 24/0 is not natural, would you like to be awake all day? Also if they are alone in a room, at night (dark) they will create their own c02 to possess in the daytime.

I had 2 out of 10 sprout this year with purple stems and purple leaves on the new growth. Both are simply purple pheno's, one was male and got the chop. The second has a dark purple stem and still shows shades of purple in the new growth, all of her pre-flowers are dark purple as well.

Try subcools super soil, you'll never go back to prepackaged soil again, I guarantee it :weed:

Thanks! That looks a lot like mine. Seems healthy and I don't know how it could have a deficiency in a notoriously hot soil as a seedling, so I'm hoping it will return to it's normal color soon enough.
Your seedling looks healthy. Just give her a little time and she'll grow up real nice.
It is a good idea to get some cal/mag for later down the road. You can avoid alot of problems by using it.

White widow big bud sounds like a good cross! Ph run off sounds a bit low for dirt but see how she rocks! Might take off like a rocket ship for ya!

Just wanted to update in case another person runs across a similar problem - turned out to be a humidity problem/too much direct wind from the fan I had on it. I put a small glass over the seedling over night after watering (like a humidity dome) and I woke up to a totally green plant. :bigjoint:
