I love how you can tell peoples age by the shows they watched as kids..
Let me just say I'm glad j wasn't a kid in the late 80's and 90's as those cartoons look beyond horrible to me..

Gigantor was the SHIT

Gigantor the space aged robot,
He is at your command.
Gigantor the space aged robot,
His power is in your hand.

Bigger than big, taller than tall,
Quicker than quick, stronger than strong.
Ready to fight for right, against wrong.

You know you got some grey hairs if you remember watching this show on a black and white tv

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder how this thread would have done if it were a poll?

Home Satellite equipment became available in 1980 and one
could watch old,
new and everything in between as a kid if born after '80. By the late
1980's, satellite tv became well established as the best method of
program reception available.

Totally missing my point.. all the old heads watched shows like the Munsters, giligans island, get smart! and others, and the people born in the 80's watched stuff like teenage mutant ninja turtles and other shows I've never heard of nor seen..

sadly, I also remember all the adults huddled around the few TVs there were in my neighborhood when JFK was shot. There were a lot of family in my home that day.
Although I am from the TV/late baby boomer generation we didnt spend all day watching TV like kids do today. But on Saturdays especially I was glued to it. And I can still watch some of the old stuff and laugh. My favorite thing was to watch the three stooges for hours as it seemed to be on all the time in rerun. I still watch it if I can find it.

i watched all those shows and i was born in '83. those shows didn't suddenly go off the air because a ball dropped in times square. they're still on if you know where to look. the variety available today is the reason they're not popular any more. i grew up with 30 channels. i watched what was on.

my favorite shows as a kid were the flintstones and i love lucy, and those shows are from the 60s and 50s. i loved mister ed but i recently caught it on tv and it's really not that good.

just because there was more variety for kid's programming in the 90s doesn't mean the old shows are some secret memory that only people over a certain age remember.

my grandmother would make me watch her goddamn dobie gillis and patty duke, and when she would take her nap i'd watch what i wanted. there was one tv.
