Just a quick question for the Rollitup community. I plan on building a 7x7x7 Veg room with 5x5 of growing room with 1' for working room all the way around.
Would you guys use one 1000w or two 600w's? I would like to have 10-15 plants vegging at a time. Any input is appreciated!

I'd go with the 1000 watt with wrap around T5 HO sidelighting. Look for T5s with really good reflector hoods, it will amplify the 1000 watter.
The 1000 watter will give you great penetration into the canopy and the T5s will even out the light coverage over the whole canopy as well as widen the light spectrum.

Are you planning on vertical lighting with cooling or hoods?
Really good question. I havent decided yet. Im for sure going vertical in my flower room but was still in the air on my veg room. What do you think? would you go Vert or do an idea like PurpleBuz?
Thanks!!

The T5s work in either a horizontal or vertical grow. My dream setup is a hexagon of trees around a central high wattage hdi, a LED 150 watt pluss UFO over each plant and T5s all around the outside of the hexagon. Trees on dollys so they can be rotated once a day.

I have a 1000 watter and its good.but if I could do it all over again I'll do 2 six hunderds with a 6-8 inch fan.u can get the lights lower

Have you considered LEDs for the veg room? I have found that LED works very good for veging and reduces heat build up and electrical consumption. The initial cost is higher, but it pays off in the long run. I initially did veg under a 1000W HID then switched to the LEDs and found that I got healthier, fuller looking plants. I wouldn't recommend LEDs for flowering, but definitely for the vegetative period.

I say 2 600s all day.. bro.. I run a 1000w.. but once I get money.. moving to 600s and more of them .. I have 2 5x5s and a 8x10.. and man go with more lights spread out equaly.. since u have this room the way it is.. id get 2 smaller hoods.. and make sure u have the lights on each side of the room with the hoods point inward toward eachother to maximixe ur situation

2 600w idk about t5 or leds but during the course of getting to know gardeners they always say two is better than one in questions like yours
