Fox Farm Ocean Forest vs Down to Earth "Pro Organic Mix"

Hello friends! I have been requesting to get some TGA Supersoil in a certain shop. The owner said something I found to be interesting, that he could find not enough difference between Down to Earth "Pro Organic Mix" vs Fox Farm Ocean Forest to carry both, opting for Fox Farm. I refuse to use FFOF anymore, due to it running out of gas before the plant was finished. I am trying to get both the Down to Earth and Supersoil to this shop because it saves me time and money by not having to drive an hour and a little change south to pick up what I want to grow with.
Is what this guy says true? Are these essentially the same mix, tossed into different bags to trick the customer/grower?
Also, should I just go ahead and request both the TGA base soil to go with the Supersoil, or is the TGA base soil, essentially the same thing as the Down to Earth mix?
This question is not directed at Sub, because I know he does not answer any Supersoil questions, but to the knowledgeable Weed Nerds.
Thank you in advance for helping clear up some haze. Peace.

I can't get tga in the city I'm in and don't have a way to get it at the moment so I'm gunna have the 60 cubic ft bag delivered to my house and make my own supersoil at home for at least the next 3 yrs haha. But if the shop owner is willing to order tga supersoil then ask him to order the base too, they r designed to work together. Hope this helps

It's easy enough to mix your own Super Soil...and the modified version is even better...much improved over Subcool's version...

see https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/526665-sharing-my-modified-subcool-super.html

I've tried both Subcool's version, and the modified version...

In my experience, Subcool's version is subject to cal/mag issues at the end of flowering...even for quick-flowering plants...been there done that and won't go back...

The modified version has no cal/mag issues...

Just my opinion after trying both...

I did. I called him, placed an order for both Supersoil and base. I also have some of the Down To Earth Pro Organic and plants doing their thing in machine prepared SS with Vermisoil premium. Thanks guys for the replies. Peace.

Man, mix your own. It's not hard. And you will enjoy it and save mucho dollars (hope that wasn't offensive to our illegal alien Mexicans who mooch off of us). But use the modified Super Soil recipe...Subcool's recipe has faults...it does... Don't take the easy out, which won't be so easy when you're frantically trying to figure out why your plants' leaves are dying in week 5 of flowering...cal/mag deficiencies will abound...
