It does not amaze me that most of you have missed the point of this.
I like how you all agree it is a pie in the sky, not possible, but a utopia none the less.
so lets be honest about this.
this is a utopia. it does require all to work together. it can be accomplished but only with hard/smart work by a large number of people that WANT to be there in that society. That WANT to be together, learning, educating, solving problems at both the physical and mental levels. it requires people to share, and to think about others. in this society you can no longer treat people you want like shit because you have money or are better then them. there is no money, and if you are better then them it is because you have gone out and educated yourself. By being better then them i mean you are something they want to be. An intellectual, a true intellectual that cares for all. A true figure to admired.
There is no money in this society, people do not need it to contribute and be forced into labor because they WANT to work, improve, fix the problems.
The point is that is CAN be done. It CAN function and sustain itself.
Most if not everything you see today is made to fail. It has an expiry date on it because if it doesn't fail, how can people keep making more of it. We have redundancies everywhere.
Instead of making things to fail. They would be made to work, and endure.
Electricity is free, solar, wind, water. It requires maintenance of the machines we use to convert the energy into a usable form that can be stored.
Food can be grown and requires little if any tending. Most of which could/will be done by machines. machines that yes, will we require maintenance.
Clothing is made from the plant and animal fibres we grow, and since they are made to last they are made by people, using machines to make. yes the machines require maintenance and so do the people.
shelter, designed by people, made out of the materials available, for the area/climate and purpose of the building. and yes, they will require maintenance.
all of these are simple and easy problems to solve. Machines do the work. People fix the machines as required. People reap the benefits of an easier life.
these are simple machines, not self aware AI.
and yes, people would still have to work, but it would be different work.
using the tools and knowledge available until new tools are created and the new knowledge properly assimilated into the process.
would religion be allowed? no. religion is a fallacy.
the base meaning of the universe is to love one another and help each other improve.
which religion states this without twisting into some monster at the end?
now please hear me when i say, i have been living a half in half out life. a mirrored little existence in memories. i have seen the conscious and unconscious folding and rolling. i have even done some myself. i understand.
