Hey I didn't know where to put this so I am putting it here. Anyone know anything about cannabinoids? I mean I keep seeing seeds get stronger and stronger with THC because it is already so active in cannabis, and also, I know they are starting to add CBD and make it more active in some seeds at popular seed banks. But, there are 82 different cannabiniods in cannabis and I am sure some of them are really effective in different ways. I know a lot of research has been going into this as of late, but excluding researchers and the science community, do they have breeders who specialize in this?

A high cbd and thc is cool but anybody go real deep into it? Ill be checking it out; just got the idea, and was just wondering if anyone here knew about this.

I just looked this up they have THCV for example,
Brief:
A psychoactive cannabinoid found along with THC in cannabis, research has shown that, in low doses, THCV will increase the effects of THC (strongly potentiating THC, provoking a heavy, stronger and faster “High”-effect) but in larger doses THCV is believed to oppose the effects of THC. Recent research into THCV has focused on its ability to reduce appetite.

This could be beneficial if breeders tried to increase and tested for this. I've even heard that there are gardening techniques that can affect diffirent cannabnoids differently.

Oh they seem to have cannabinoid profiles on some of the seeds on seedfinder that are real descriptive.

talk to Myco .. he seems to be a bit more in to the CDB then the rest of us and have some high CDB strains I believe

View attachment 2750889I think this will help some people find the cannabanoids they might be looking for in cannabis. The next chart is to help make sure you're getting what you want out of your plant in the first place.when to harvest.jpg Thcv has been shown to be a good pain killer as well. I believe T.G.A.'s strain Jack the Ripper has a really nice amount of thcv in it, and quite the punch as well. I think alot of strains with high amounts of the terpene limonene have an elevated level of thcv, I could be wrong about that, but they seem to go hand and hand. Cannabanoids are cool! Peace out.

Yeah, leaves on the bulbs. Cool enuff?
Should be....you can put you hands on them right...my t5's don't get hot at all. They already have a relatively low lumen/uvb output, don't hinder them any more with those covers. If they burn your leaves just trim off what touches,no biggie.peace

Ok thanks, I will pull them off today. How do your self watering buckets work?

Can't believe we're almost at the end of July. Time flies when your gardening.

I find that my plants grow up into my T5 hood quite a bit I just raise it some or pull the plants a little lower by the supports. I've never had one get burnt by one before, maybe if your plant was already dried out or something, but you never let that happen bro so you'll be fine I would think. I'd go topless too! Peace out.

I posted pics and a brief explanation of how I use the self-watering 5g buckets in
MISSPHOEBE'S thread....Question.If MJ roots love Oxygen so much why not...........?.......if you care to look.By comparison I usually have better yeilds than most when I use the self-watering 5g buckets and i use cfls:cool:

my plants can stay a 1/4 of a inch from my T5HOs with out any problems, tho they do a lot better if I keep em about 2-4" away

and I did once have a plant that grew up in to em for hrs, they did get kind a burned, well no fire, but leaves got dry and died of, no problem plant grew fine afterwords, just make sure they don't actually touch em, maybe raise em just above your scrog horizontal on 3 of the 4 sides cept the door ? to take care of the corners ?

Alright, the fluros are easy to move around, so I will keep playing with them. It sounds like I need to position them to hit the top of the SCROG more than the under side?

I got serious trashed last night. Smoking buddy to me out for steaks and after a couple martinis, bottle of wine, and some pineapple exp, Prosperian was muy loco. Hung over this morning, big time.

How's the vacation? Getting anything done around the house or just chillin?

Can't believe it, RIU search actually worked this time! Thanks for the info. Very interesting setup.

sounds fun, well until the next day anyway, and a little of both, chilling with my stuff ;) made some tweaks to collect cool air from a window with my old 4" canal ventilation and some alu ducting to my intake "box" look horrible with the ducting around my house, but hey aslong as this heat wave is on, one must do what one have too do too keep it cool and green, so close to harvest and my next run, want to keep it optimal and Im just 3C or so off

and yea I would use em to cover the side`s of your scrog out where you can see the LEDs don't do much good, and I would also try to scrog my main Buds near the center of the closed right under the LEDs and also let them out at the edges grow up a bit more (like a canyon if you catch my weird logic and poor english skill`s ???)

So, in a scrog how do you keep the main colas from overshooting the rest of the tops in the screen? Seems to me mains would be in the center and stretch up really fast and tall. The side branches would be slower and not as tall. It would be the opposite of the canyon effect that you want me to create.

When you can you always want to train your taller parts of the plant to the edges, and give the center to your lesser branches. Works out pretty good. Peace out.

All the pics I see of SCROGs I never can see what's going on underneath. But I get the idea myco. Weave the branches so that the mains are stretched to the side and bring the sides branches straight up the center.

Anyone have photos of their scrogs to share? That would help to see what I'm doing. My first time and I'm trying not to F things up, I've come so far!

I'm going to go read a couple of my plant books, see if there is anything on scrogs.

use the next two weeks or so (the stretch) to pop them shoots down agin, so you get multiply Bud points at the screen top, right under the LEDs, let em branch out to the side`s, tho try to keep the main shoot (if you have any ? thickest steam) more to the center of the light, but I guess your screen already is full ...LOL :D

There are a few on my strawberry grow if you want. I am actually pretty happy with how the canopy is turning out so far, but I only grow one at a time so she gets a lot of attention.

With the FIM it can get tricky to find the "main" cola since you will have several. These usually go on the outer edges since they are the most vigorous to grow and this keeps it even, making it difficult to angle it towards the center of the light. I wouldn't think this would be a problem for you since you keep a regular rotation.

Main Stem, hard to tell but I have 5 main stems coming from here:

Nice and flat like.. well nice and flat.

First two important tips: don't actually 'weave' the branches in the net, just bind them down to it, and don't bind too tight so the branch can thicken :)

Second, per your request, pics from the other side of my quarter-pipe 'fence' ;)

Same round as the near harvest pics, the yellow-ish ones, I posted earlier in this thread.

I hope it helps!

Thanks guys, appreciate the photos and feedback.

I'm off to the store. I need a grinder to smooth down the edges of my new screen - shelf. I think it will work pretty well once I get it installed.

That top one has a nice fade, and is quite chunky bro, nice job. I don't know what you were worried about, they look great. I know any good gardener is never happy, and always looking for ways to improve, but I would be happy harvesting those ladies soon. I think for all the heat, and your ph issue they came out looking pretty good. How much time you still have on them? Peace out.
