genetic question

I did not know where else to put this question. I will research it further when I have time, but for now I thought someone would have a quick answer. :)

I have 2 crosses White widow(f)(indica pheno) x Berry Bomb(m) and OG Kush(f) x Berry Bomb(m) If I was to cross these would berry bomb become dominant ?? since the seed would be 25% ww 25%og kush and 50% Berry bomb.

The first cross is indica dominant on all of the seed I sprouted as testers.
In over my head lol I'll have to do some genetics study. lol

Research the punnett square and read up on that to get a idea about probabilities as it relates to genetics. That will start you down the rright path. But short answer, yes the 50% berry will make those characteristics more dominant when you start off but you can change that with proper selection.

Using non hybrids to start will make things easier for you as f2 generation will show all characteristics of the hybrids used in varying combinations. So having a hybrid x hybrid will show more variation that you have to grow and choose from vs cross of two stable strains.

Yes the F2 are where all the treasures are, it can be a slow process checking them all out. Making the proper pick is the key, take lots of notes and pictures of the F1. It can be a labor of love and just a whole lot of fun. Enjoy

With those two you will get 25% ww x og, 25% berry x og, 25% ww x berry, and 25% berry x berry; or this is how the phenos will play out. No, 50%.
This is why hybrids are more troublesome to breed with. In order to get 50% you need to find two non hybrids or take the offspring from your crosses and slowly back breed. Cheers.

Sorry forgot, but yes the berry is dominant with 75% of the crosses having 50% of berry in the make up, just find the one you like from offspring and hit her with the same male daddy to get next generation. Repeat process till you have a stable product that you can start working as well..

I agree the hybrids are hard to breed with if your goal is producing a so called strain for breeding, although working with them gives such a diverse gene pool to explore. I think if I live to be 200 I couldn't find all the phenos in my current crosses but sure do love looking.

Definately a hybrid, but the f1's all look the same, Great. Will f2's come out with the different phenotypes.

No, just free seed and quality bud. I dont have the time or room to develop a strain.
I have four in the dirt outside I am going to let them go and see if they will color up when weather gets cold. Hope to get them close to 3'(1m) tall and maybe an 1 or 2 oz.
They all look like this:) Just got them into ocean forest.
