What The Hell Is This? Sativa Dom 9th Week Of Flower??

So I noticed this today while checking in on her. Not sure what it is? Almost looks like a seed? Notice just above P in the word Pollen and top right of K in sack, top right of Pic.

Is this a Pollen sack, seed? These are popcorn size buds about the size of a dime. Formed at the lowest branches, that I actually cut to prevent any growth.

9 weeks now, not ready yet! But so so ready to test it out.

These are my top two colas! Maybe not the best, but I am proud of them!

I would think 3-4 weeks easy. Looks like you may also have some deficiencies, unless that was from earlier, hard to tell with that lighting.

a swollen calyx will not split open unless pollinated , looks like bag seed and it has made a seed or more in return . looking at the structure of the bud its obvious as well that the calyx will not get to large with this lady .. Peace

Yep pretty much starved it out the entire time. But is nice and green and the newer growth. The trichs under 10x are all cloudy but no signs of amber. I am thinking 12 weeks.

Those are very small popcorn buds that are at the top of steams at the very base of the plant, that I cut trying to keep any growth from that low on the plant. Smaller than a dime. It is bag seed from mids. And as far as the top colas? Those are going to dry out at a quarter each I am sure. Right now those top colas are 3in around, so as far as not swelling I don't know what you are referring to? This little lady will pill at least 1.5oz and I am hoping for 2oz. Keep a eye out for the finish of her. These are the only two things that appear on the plant. "So it's is not full of seeds."

For a reference this is swollen and heavy due to genetics and if you look closely the calyx are firm and swollen , hence it being ready . no offense but not all but grows are the same and bag seed can be great but it does have its downfalls .. Hope your not in for a surprise as often where there is one seed apparent there is more in hiding due to hermaphroditism ..By the way this plant only harvested a few ounces of rock hard bud . Best of luck ........

But I clipped that thing and it was a seed. 2 total, and that is at the very base of the plant. My guess is that it's one last desperate attempt to seed before its finishes. : ) Could have a light leak?

Thanks very much for the reference with the pic! I was going to ask someone for a pic today. I popped it off to investigate. And it was definitely a immature seed. Should I cut in now since it may seed? Once seeding starts it's not going get any better would be my understanding, since this started so late? My calyxes are swelling, looks like yours' , just not nearly as nice. : ) But you may be right, it might be a seed factory underneath. Lol I caught myself thinking "man these guy's are way to worried about light leaks." Ouch biting my tongue now. And sincerely thank ya for the pic again.

All in all, I have more seeds to practice with. : ) Maybe one day turn it into something special

I read somewhere that a female Cannabis plant will produce seed if it is stressed or something do that it can continue on in the cycle of life.

Hermi? Or maybe the plants effort to reproduce? I don't know. But that is most definitely a seed sack.

Its my honor to share and help others who are learning , and on this note . The pollen may have came from a lower branch with a male flower due to early flowering . This is common with Sativa genetics as they are more prone to this when they have not reached maturity . Most will advise you too wait until the branches are alternating before flowering a Sativa from seed , once they have reached a mature chronological age one way or another aged in growth or cloned this trait is often recessive unless stressed .

So in essence this may be why it did herm at a point and could even without light leaks . Only you can really monitor the plant and determine whats best in this situation .. I hope you enjoy the grow regardless and I hope you have many more successful harvests of DANK .......Peace

Thanks! I have been having fun for sure and learned a lot. The next one will be better than this. Going to improve my set up a little and start off with some good genetics. : ) I would say patience is the hardest part of this for me. I wanna try it out now! Lol I just fed 700 ppm ( total ppm), with my tap coming out at a 100ppm today. Start of week 10 was last Friday. This is most likely my last feeding, maybe one more? Dyna Gro says 2 week flush, since I have been lite on the nutes the whole grow, I may go one more time. I am thinking 2 more weeks to cut? Trichs look cloudy, bottoms are about 30% red hairs, just waiting on the tops to finish out I guess. I am proud of her, first step for me, towards saving 6k a year, and a lot less waiting on ppl to come trough for me. Lol

I would say check in 2, but more likely 3 weeks. I love smoking sativas, but damn they can take too friggin long to flower.

Yes, it has seem to drag on the last few weeks. I can tell she seems to be fattening up a bit the last few weeks. Next watering I will drag her out and take some pics not under the HPS.

Hey just to spread what I learned....

If a pistil is browning early it has been pollinated. I have some on my ladies that were brown tipped and looked online for the answer. Popped off a calyx who's tip was brown and it had a white/light green seed inside it :/
