I adopted a little squirrel once. It wasn't a newborn like yours though. It would climb all the way up to my shoulder and sit there. Never bit me or anyone. But it did do some damage to stuff in the house. I eventually took him to a state park and let em go.

If they get spooked indoors, say bye bye to your curtains/drapes...learned that the hard way.

Try to nurture the lil fella, keep him alive.Funny little story,,My friggin cat about 2 weeks ago brought in a live baby bunny and the dam thing was just squeekin away like no tommorrow,he goes to my buddy's room and sits with it in his mouth just letting it squeel. So we decided to close the door in case he let the baby go,,we aproach the cat and he gives us this look and a growl, its like oh shit hes in hunter mode!We back away from him and the next thing we hear is a subtle little crunch, well we knew what happened there and he decides to let the thing go and just go about his business. We threw the thing out into the yard and the cat follows us out,,,needless to say He ate the thing, poor little bunny.
