Other Side of the Fence...Where the Grass is Always Greener

Man, I'm hoping this LED panel doesn't let me down on the bud production. I've been spoiled with the first run of my AK47 and Pineapple Exp. under the 400w. The auto flower Diesel was a let down on bud production. but it was a runt, an auto, and was under the 400w during most of the grow. Not really LED related, ya know?

Don't know what to expect with all the trimming and manipulation I did with this current grow. Never thought I would do a SCROG, but here I am.

Yeah, I have the hardest time separating work from R&R. My two companies are my passion.

dont think the LEDs will let you down Bro, no way, might not be as awesome as your first run, as you said, hard to beat, and you kind a gave yourself some hard odds to work with doing such a perfect first run, but Im also sure the Bud quality will be as awesome or better, and since yield is`t your main concern with your relative small use of the Herb I wouldn't worry, you might get 20% less, but also 20% better product, well that is atlest what I found so fare, but I have´t had a 100% perfect run with the LEDs yet

tho one thing, in the future, you might want to consider to just do 1 or 2 plants at the time instead of 4 mature plants in 5 gallon pots seem`s a bit optimistic with your space, either that or flower em sooner

and I actually think your Auto look nice, how much yield do you think it give ? 20-30 gram ? Im thinking 12 of them in 1-2 gallon pots under my two fixtures =+300 grams and if I still start em under the T5HOs in Cup`s 2 week`s before harvest I can harvest every 40-50 day, that will give me 30% more yield with 20% less time used to get it, might make up for the less potent herb ?

Good advice. Definitely cutting down to two or one container in the cab. Now that I know I can have 100% survival on two separate grows, I can reduce my plant count without fear of loosing the grow.

My scale should be here next week. Lent my other one out. Thinking on the lighter side maybe 20-25 grams from the auto. Test vape has a nice strong high, but that was all trichs. Finishing up the dry now and moving to container tonight for burping. Test some of the bud next. Your math looks good on the autos, never would have thought of it that way.

Have plenty of time to wait and see what the flowers do under this new panel. I see you changed your screen? Bigger holes?

Yeah, I did set the bar kinda high on my first grow, who knew? Not me!

well now you atleast know its possible and what to aim for

and yea in your case it would probably make more sense to grow a few nice looking/smelling/tasting plant`s your happy about growing wile for me the Auto`s might make more sense, atleast it might be worth a try, the idea about small pot`s and plant`s also appeal to me, a short grow time should also give less problems if my logic serves me right, and I could easily imagine 12 small plants I rotate and swap around every day and I will have no problems with penetrations, training or have to prune much, you know Im lazy too, and yes did get some new screen with bigger holes to work with, only purpose for me really as I already Veg em in to some M-lining plants with 8 and 16 + top`s is to separate em, keep em apart and help em with the weight later on (hopefully)

I also looked in to a new digital scale, but really what is the use, I smoke it anyway :D much rater buy a Par meter so I can see how effective my LEDs are at different distances, but thats like +300$ for a prober one, maybe in the future, Ill keep looking

The only thing about autos is the one main cola deal. They'll stretch that goofy thing above the rest of the plant, and then you end up with one nice top flower, and the other ones seem to lack density. You can pull the whole plant over to control that some, but autos hate to be messed with too, and can almost seem to stop growing or maybe herm on you. with your T5ho rig you can always main-line a couple of girls, and then flip em under your led's, and get alot more tops I would think, and with the better quality as well. I haven't grown an auto in a little bit, maybe they're different, and a little better now, who know's. One thing I do know is that you're a little more used to a better quality than autos bro, and might be disappointed. If you do go with some auto's the Spanish companies seem to have a pretty good lock on the better quality strains, I would look at maybe ordering from one of them. My pic of the day is the first doobie of Iced Grapefruit. No filter, no cone, just a quickie as I call em.

By the time I got to the end, I didn't have to hold on anymore, the goofey thing was stuck to my fingers, LOL. Have a great day everyone. Peace and Love.

Yeah, you have a good scale anyway, love that antique, no batteries! I think I can get 5 oz. per plant in a two plant configuration. It's all about filling a canopy that maxes the usable light foot print. My light print is about 2' X 3'. I have a max yield for that foot print regardless of how many plants I use.

I see your point on the autos staying small, growing fast, just have more buckets to make up for the yield. Logical. Especially with the LEDS and light penetration deep in the canopies. Long veg times will always create the big tall plant. LEDs don't spread their light print very well. You might have to think about a light mover again for the number of buckets.

well I know, and I wouldn't mess too much with them either, just a quick painless repot from a cup to a 1,5g pot (I already got plenty of) and then in under the LEDs, and I would do it in week 2 before any signs of flowers, maybe experiment with some soft LST just after the repot then let em finish

and I only grew a few auto`s noting to report home about, but when see prospians and he even claim its a "bad" phono it make me think, look like a nice big and some what potent main cola, and like you I love to make a bit of oil, so some side shoots are always welcome, and if the main cola is`t strong enough I mix it with the oil (just a thought)

well I guess theres only one way to find out, think I will make the drive and buy a new filter anyway, then I might try out some, could always try a few and see for myself if I like the smoke could also be fun to smoke some things els soon, tho I still have`t forgot about the Skunk 1# that one I must try as well

yea might be a option with the light mover, tho my fixtures is like 50x30 cm each and hang beside each other they cover about 70x80 cm, my 6L pot`s are 20x20 cm so put in a 3x4 row they will take up 60x80cm think it could work

Might as well play along and add a pic of the day. I'm going to go a different route, so here's one of my BOY. Look at his studdly ass LOL. He's a bit randy but it is not yet time, so he's getting cloned and chucked soon. Trich-covered stinky short Bubba. This boy's been around in my little circle for a bit now I finally decided to do some seed runs, it's going to get exciting :)

Welcome Hamish. Good to see you here with plant in hand. (not a requirement...but cool to look at!)

Oh yeah, I forget you would be working with smaller 6L buckets. Yup, that will keep everything tight and under a smaller light print.

Guess you smell like weed after being under the screen to your elbows, just like me!
Haha, I picked up my wife from work after a binding session a few days ago, she got in the car and the first thing she said was "Oh you smell like weed" (in a good way of course ;)). :eyesmoke:

There's no screen though just a few wires and some weights (coins taped together hanging on a wire, there's like $20 in small change in there).

Yours looks great, nice healthy green. I like the clean space as well, mine's such a mess.

Yawn, morning everybody. Sati, next time I'm going to raise the plants off the floor like I did in veg. A foot off the ground would give me a lot of space to reach the containers and keep it cleaner.

Back to the grind for some of you (Slip, vacation is over brother), me, everyday is a vacation sprinkled with small doses of activity that keeps the money flowing. No, it's not dealing. Don't Tell, Don't Smell, Don't Sell.

Got to get the kids registered for school today. They go back in three weeks, yay! If I can get my wife back to work I could have the house to myself again.

A guy can dream. :D

sweet, how was the stretch ? is it done ? look tight with close Nod space ;)

and yea vacation is over, next one is at X-mass !!! need to think about something els, tho I guess I should be happy I have a good job and have been there 10 years this november

and actually happy to be back, do miss the guys at work and I also like to get a early start of the day, some how I get more done after work then the days Im home all day, weird, don't think I would be able to be/work at home all day every day, would probably end up like Prospian say, with long hair and beard, tho Im sure I would end up making rules for myself and do my work early in the day

Everybody is looking good. I'm so used to having the house to myself during the day it really throws off my routine to have people home sometimes. not that I mind it grant you, it just has me doing things differently is all. I really love having my normal routine though, it's calming to me to know everything is taken care of, and in proper order. Here's my pic of the day. A nice frosty nugget of Menage a Trois.
DSCF0500.jpgHave a Dank Day! Peace out.

Hell, I know if you didn't work you would keep a cleaner cab! j/k End up looking like your avatar too. BTW, that will be my Halloween costume this year. I will be knocking on myco's door asking for some delicious amber candy.

It takes discipline to work from home. So many distractions if you don't stay focused. That's why I start at 5am. Work peeps can be like a second family. Most spend more awake time with workers than with their own families.

Back to the plants, yes, stretch is winding down. Huge 10-12" gains under the screen, 5-6" above. Down below, I tried to cut any small branches out to keep the growth where I want it. Nodes could be tighter, but that could be the strains, some are better than others.

Dropped handfuls of fan leaves down below, but again, I let the plant decide what it no longer needs and let them yellow out. Otherwise, things are chugging along. Burping the auto buds on a 12/12 schedule. Popping lid gives me 41% humidity closing jumps right back up to 70%. I will keep doing this until I get below 65% and it's consistent. I will then add the Bovida humidity packs and go into the long cure.

Great thread people...the pics WOW! I think I'll jump in, I don't take a lot of pics but here goes. These pics are of a creation I have come up with, Mum was cheese and Dad was Great white shark. BlueWidow011_zps56d777b7.jpgThe color must be from the mum but I'm guessing now.008_zps7b938ab2.jpgHarvest is quite easy, not much trimming just big leaf removal020_zps849686b0.jpgNext I am going to take this ladies and mate her with an exodus Cheese papa.
