Is Ocean Forest too hot for clones??

West coast, no problem with clones in FFOF mixed with MG perlite. I also do not add any nutes until they have grown up a bit.

I personally have had some HOT bags of FFOF, thus, I have switched back to Pro Mix. Like everyone's recommendations have already stated, just cut FFOF with some perlite.

I lost 4 out of 6 clones after I transplanted into FFOF, sad sad day .

Though to be unbiased, I have bought FFOF before without any problems. I think my store had a bad batch of bags.

Its all I use when I'm running soil, I've never burned anything but I also don't feed for the first couple weeks just water when I first plant or transplant.

It is generally agreed upon that FFOF is to hot for seedlings and clones as well initially ..

Never liked Ocean Forest and my Happy Frog grows always outperformed OF. Too much Humic acid in OF IMO. I think people simply get ultra hyped on the word ocean in the name and that trippy fish graphic on the bag.

I do not agree, nor do many that have already posted in this thread. Has worked great with my clones, not that there are not some strains that may find it too hot. Not sure which is the exception and which is the rule. I will continue to use it cut with perlite.

Clones: Ocean Forest is perfectly fine. I've fried the shit out of more than a few seedlings with it however. Regardless, I've found the Frog to outperform Ocean Forest every which way. It's not a cost issue, its simply a better soil. IMO of course
