I've never used side lighting for mine sure didn't need any growing plants 3-4z, so.... it depends on your definition of smaller plants though mine are usually about 1.5' tall tied down like crazy going into flower and usually finish around 2.5-3'. It helps if you lollipop'em and get rid of a lot of those lower budsites.

I've LST'd before, and lollypopped. It definitely helps the ladies out. Call me crazy, but the only 'effort' I want to do while training my ladies is topping/fimming them, and I want quality buds all the way down. Unrealistic? Maybe? Depends on how many panels I use.

I hear ya brother, it's not a cheap game.

I slowly purchased my lights over about 1.5 years. Now I have x2 BS100's, x2 BS180's, x1 PG-180, and x1 AF-240... I was running two tents, but as the pics show, I've moved over to a single 4x4. The growth on the bottoms of the plants is quite remarkable compared to running just an overhead light.

The bottoms of my big 6 footers just didn't get the light they needed from a single overhead, but on my smaller plants it wasn't as large of an issue. For example, with Holly If I was only using the overhead lighting even though she's only about 2.5-3 feet tall there would still be snicklefritz at the bottom.

When it's harvest time, I just want one bag - keeper buds! I like oil and hash as much much as the next guy, but I'd rather have fat nugs hanging off the bottom that feel just as hard as my colas....

bad news, last night I suspected that my cbd skunkhaze was bud rotting, after carefully cracking one cola open, it was indeed starting to mold from the inside. I knew all along. All 3 buds on the plant were the size of a bottle of wine. 12/12 from seed. Amazing production, amazing smell. I chopped off what I could salvage from the colas staying FAR from the mold and I will make CBD hash with those. I will harvest the rest of the plant today. I have no pics of the cola coze I was too pissed off.

I have said this before and I Will say it again, I am so done with growing massive buds!! the problem is how can u kill a plant that is doing so well halfway through flowering!! However, I have better control over the environment in the winter... so I will def grow some of the seeds that were in the seeded bud (Revolution x SkunkHaze)

I just snapped a few shot of what was left of the cola... ill post a picture. keep in mind this was the upper part of the cola and the middle section was actually wider...

I have lots of buds on the plants besides the 3 main colas, I will smoke report on the CBD high within a week or so.

I don't understand why you wouldn't create an environment that is NOT mold susceptible?? Your already using lots of wattage?I think, so why not buy a portable AC/Dehumidifier and keep growing monster buds???

On the top of my head, I can give a few answers to ur question Psuagro

I have 2 dehums and my basement is very dry but it is not only about the humidity.

Massive sticky buds get wet inside and they are hard to dry as well. Not to mention, when u crack them massive buds open they are usually white inside from the lack of light and have no bag appeal when u break them apart for drying. I had transferred my massive ROLS container in the tent because my tent was usually dryer and I was worry about the skunkhaze going moldy. But the container was the size of the tent and I guess the humidity wasnt as low as usual. I would have to keep the RH at 30% to MAYBE avoid the mold. I much prefer to grow plants loaded with medium sized nugs.

Also, room2 is running with fresh air from outside right now because the room was running too hot. (not many people are growing indoor in the summer months and the LEDs allow me to do it to an extant but I dont want to run AC on top of that because my grow isnt big enough to seal it and use CO2) and running a Dehum inside the room would make it even hotter. Right now room2 runs at 26degrees celcius and 42% RH at lights on and 42-48% at lights out. Which is pretty good growing condition for most strains. I run my lights on at night too.

Also, I am still a newbie trying to figure things out.

one more thing is u should know by now that I am after quality and not yield, I enjoyed proving to people that LEDs can grow massive buds but I much prefer showing SUPER resinous plants.

I scratch the massive container and the plants that were in it... a beautiful Respect and a weird looking Diesel tonic LOADED with tiny buds. Sometimes u gotta recognize ur mistake and move on. So anyway, I transferred a couple plants from Room2 into the tent and transplanted a couple (SBXCHEMO and Dnatural Grinspoon)


Lighting in the tent for now are blackstar and diamond so rougly 230watts.

Room2 is looking really good. I have 3 BlueSage that just germinated and will be sexed before returning to veg cab and I transplanted the Chemo from Jordan of The Island. I hope she wasnt too small but anyway I gave her a big container 10 gallons I hope I won't regret it.

The HSS is on half power basically just to keep my mom alive.

Cheese#1 this strain is such a stinky keeper... I can;t get over the smell, I find it smells like coffee and cheese and man when the plant was out of the room before trimming, the whole house got so stinky even if there was no air movement around the plants I walked near my house outside and I could smell her ... she's dangerous!!!



Hash made with all the trims I had been saving for a while. I didnt spend much time I just did a quick batch and I didnt have quite enough ice... so I could have gotten a lot more but the results is stellar.

I was just moving a few plants around today, growing weed is a lot of work!! I transplanted another SBXchemo in room2, and moved a few plants around.

that's about it. oh yeah most importantly:

note to myself, my spacebomb x chemo cut shows sex today when grown outside, ... this year anyway. I have 2 growing a friends yard for themselves, the only outdoor plants that I really get to see grow on a weekly basis. Anyway, I cant wait to see what she looks like a months and a half from now!!

This will be my best run in there if none of those plants hermie on me. 3 of em are crosses i have never grown yet, WhiteWidow x Spacebomb. The Cheese is the only one i know for sure it won't hermi.

anyway, it's pretty crowded and all the plants are nice big and healthy. I am running about 750 watts and I am hoping for a pound of solid nugs. It will be easy for me to track how much weed I will get out of this run in this room.


room2 is looking pretty good too.. kind of half starting fresh here with a few SB X CHEMO, also I started recently some 12/12 from seed 3 x ((Revolution X Cheese which I call ''ZION EAZE'')) in the same container. Look how big and beautiful the Respect plant is, she is going to be a nice plant!! I harvested a small Respect yesterday and the smell is lovely, she smells clean, citrucy and orangy, but like what comes to my mind when I smell her is cleanliness lol.


Finishing up in the tent ,... a Cheese bud and a Magical Fruit (nug's Chernobyl x jillybean cross) covered with resin but she was grown in a small container and has very small yield. I might reveg her!!

I am currently vegging a few plants, but most of my work has been 12/12 from seed and I will continue to experiment with this growing style as soon as I am done with the plants that are being sexed right now.
