IMO you should not trim during flowering especially if you haven't did it in veg,it will stop growth, idk what exactly do you mean with trimming .. fan leaves?lower bud sites? you can always lst though, also i am not sure about what i see in your photos but i think i see the claw which means toxicity,do you ph ?

it is not a stupid question, but what I'm about to give you might be a stupid answer. I don't know what light you have and they look stretchy and not really bushy. I would not cut them off, rather tie/tuck them out the way, or cut off all the really low bud sites that wont amount to much down there anyway, or get some supplemental cfls lower down or bend the tops down somehow and get the light on top. I'm sure someone will give a better answer.

How big of lights are you running? Your plants are not very bushy. Not a stupid question at all! Some will tell you that bottom growth isn't going to produce much and remove bottom shoots. Others will tell you don't cut anything off. If this is your first grow I wouldn't touch it and let them do their thing. Next go around play around with training and you can remove some of the lower growth. See if you notice a difference...I personally remove some of the lower growth but I also grow much bigger plants under a 400 and they are trained to be bushier so light penetration and air movement is an issue for me....

the tops will flower but all the rest will suffer because 125w cfl hasn't got much penetration (it is only effective for a small distance)

I just read that for autos it dosent matter how much light they have as long as the air is flowing etc they will still grow?.

Don't even sweat any "trimming", let them ladies do their thing bro! Last batch of autos I ran, I didn't touch a thing to the end, and pulled over 2 per girl.

The amount of light is going to make a difference Auto or not....With Autos the duration is the thing not having to cut it to 12/12 to force flower, can give 20/4 throughout (whatever recommended). Well at least thats how I understand it. Never grew an auto....but from what I read I know there are limitations to autos. Typically less yield (smaller plants), not as potent (in general), and less control of your plants. I know a lot of people start with autos because all you do is plant it, water it, feed it and let it do its thing. Personally I would add some extra CFL for side lighting.
