Best way to carry soil?

Hey all,

I'm wondering if anyone who has done an outdoor guerilla grow can advise on the best way to carry soil?

I'm trying to find some kind of back pack that is more of a frame that I can load 100-200lbs of soil onto and carry it into the woods.

Does anyone know of such a backpack?

Or advise on getting the soil out there?

I'm looking at a 2 mile hike through the forest.

Lol that mental picture is funny to me... I have nothing to offer but when I did gorilla grows I dug up a pretty big whole mixed in a bunch of perlite and put it back then I fed using mg bloom Booster. I m sure someone will come along with better advise though

I use a ll bean trail pack. I have fit 1 bail (3.7cu ft) of pro mix in it, and carried it several miles into the woods. The real issue is water... Unless your plot is close to water (more chance of it being found if it is), you will have to pack that in as well, and for that, I used an old indian pack that had a sprayer on it. Its the same kind te forest rangers use...

Did you say carry soil??? Just amend that shit. PROMIX is amazing and lightweight, pH balanced and comes with myco. Lugging water is the hard part as mentioned.

a wheel barrel if you got a smooth path. if not your shit outta luck. my friend and had to carry 35 bags of soil to our guerrilla grow. Took us 2 days, 2 bags each at a time a mile away. Man do you ever get your shoulders and core worked out.

definitely plowing a plot next time and carrying some perilite, vermiculite and powdered nutrients to make the soil that's already there good to grow in.

How exactly do you plow out in the middle of no where? LOL It was easier for me to carry soil to my plot, than to figure out how to plow it, and still have to carry in water, nutes, etc...

Thhat being said... I also put my ladies in 15-50gal pots.... not in the ground.

you can move a lot of dirt quickly with a wheel barrow, get the biggest wheel you can. you could use one of those deer haulers, hunters use to haul game, they have a mountain bike wheel, they can go over pretty rough terrain. if you can walk it, it will haul it. good luck'

Doublejj smart idea bro thanks for telling me that 4 months ago lol jk I hauled 70 bags of ffof that was fun haha made sure to always have beer on hand shit tears your body up I couldn't move next day... ha

Also you can make compost heep piles for next years grows. Just pile up leafs in the fall into a huge pile. Come back next grow season and you got all the compost you need on sight. An 4x4x4 heep pile will be 4x4x1" compost pile when you return. Fresh black and ready to use. And free with no packing in. Lots of info on the net about compost heep piles.

My Father always said watch the fat guy. he going to do the job the easiest way.


70 bags in the bush. That would kill me today.

Damn carrying bales several miles through the bush on your back? I better hit the gym. I can hardly carry them from the truck to the house, lol. Those things weight like 70 lbs!

I stick with the 1 cu ft or 1.5 cu ft loose bags. Make sure they are 100% dry and got them as close as I could with the truck and lug them one by one. I don't have a pack to strap them on my back, but that is a good idea. Something I think I'll look into.
