LGC, I had a question about mainlining. I have an og kush going, I fimmed it and got 5 tops, cut it a couple more times and right now its like 4-5 inches (what's that like 10 centimeters?) Tall and has 14 tops already. It started from seed so its still working on the root system. Obviously the topping has slowed it down, but its still growing pretty well (healthy as a mules ass) but obviously not as fast as yours :)

Anyways, my question is, should I let each top grow a couple of nodes before topping again? I've been cutting as soon as I have a node with new growth and two branches forming.

I know you run clones so its a little different, but what do you do? Cut every top as soon as the new one forms, and tie it immediately? I've not been topping them all at the same time; whichever ones are growing the fastest get the chop. I just can't quite tie them down yet BC the stems are still so small

yeah top at every second or third node to allow time for recovery but I don't think what you are doing is mainlining just topping/fimming, which is still good. And your plant looks really good.

Dont root with the mother, not only is it just a little kinky, you run the (almost certain)risk of the clones roots getting tangled with the mothers and killing the clone and damaging the mothers root systems. Just throw it in a solo cup or something, not that I am any good an getting clones to take :D

Clonex rooting gel, tray insert and dome, rapid rooter plugs = $45 at most grow shops or online even cheaper. save some lives and buy some better gear. :)


I am worse than anyone here with clones. my last grow I took OVER 50 cuttings and 1 survived. lol. switched to plugs and i'm looking at 14-14. :) I'd rather make 14 than 1. :)
all you are doing is waiting precious tops. :( poor tops. lol......
Good luck with whatever you do. Continue "Weeding out the weak" lol.
but to save yourself and the plant the stress for nothing, get something that WILL work. :)

Yeah the more I hear the more I realize how awesome these rooting plugs are. Plus I'm using shitty rooting powder (miracle gro) that ingot at Lowes. I need to get the gel. Hbum, I hear you about the roots, it was one of my first thoughts too. I don't know if I'll necessarily keep the clone even if it does work, just trying out different methods. I plan on pulling that bitch before its roots get too big.

And crit, thanks that'll definitely help me out. I've DEFINITELY not given my plant time to recover, cutting as soon as I can, lol. I'll probably cut each one once more but I'll wait a little while.

So if I wanted to mainline what would I need to do other than tie them down? I'm gonna search through your thread, I know you have that mainline tutorial link on here somewhere (the search function on this forum is sometimes useless).

BTW, looking good jedi

it looks like mr.vega was ACCIDENTALLY banned with spam, it happened to a few other users as well his ban has been lifted if anyone knows him outside of riu they can let him know
