Hey Med ...

Here's a couple of questions for you ...

1. If the people of Cedar Rapids couldn't get flood insurance because its a high risk area ... what's the question?

2. Your fence blew down and your insurance company sent you a check immediately. Why are you dealing with profit mongering insurance companies?

They're calling it the 500 year flood. We traveled yesterday and had to cross the Mississippi at Burlington, into Illinois, and back into Iowa to get home.I live in a place where if the levee breaks, I'm gonna get smashed into a bluff. A popup thunderstorm is just clearing cedar rapids and Iowa city, and theres a tornado in there somewhere I heard. Last year we had an EF5 hit about 3 miles away. I was taking a nap and slept through it. If we had looked across the field, we could have seen it decimating the little town we live near. I personally think...1.the earth is a living thing. 2.We are pissing her off. 3. We are overdue for a mass extinction. 4. If you look all over the world, it appears she has launched a multifaceted massive attack against us all.5.This is going to hurt.
So what do all you neoconic libertarians, Anti Global warming, Man has no involvement Dudes have to say about this flood. One of biblical porportions. They're calling it a 1,000 year flood, 20 ft over the 1851 Record. Just a coincidence I suppose. But who do you ask, the people that lived there 1,000 years ago didn't leave any records. I guess that all all these destructive tornados are just, oh well, it's not happening to me. But if it is, please leave a comment, thank you.

I say this! this trend was caused by a cooling effect not a warming effect. watch the weather channel med man. its all over it! they are also saying its caused by cooling on nbc and npr. I say it is just weather I mean fuck they had a biblical flood didn't they? I know they didn't have cars back then! and I don't believe in god sooo! I call it nature

It's a pain in the ass, and I don't use it untill the water passes 80*, But my grandaughters that live with me start swimming as soon as the ice is off,~LOL~, no Ice in Vegas (well there were a couple of times) and swim 10 hours a day if you let them. They make the maintenance worth it. They are 6-7 and swim like fish. We took them for lessons starting at 2 years old and every year up till this year, they swim much better than me.

In my life I have seen so many 100, 500, and 1000 year events I must be 7000 years old. My aunt worked for 35 years at the USGS and I read a bunch of this stuff as a boy. We are truly seeing many records broken.

I used to work in Cedar Rapids frequently as a long-haul driver. It is not even possible to imagine them evacuating the hospital in the center of town because of flooding.

Are these the last days? I think not. Global warming? I hope not. Preventably? Not really. Are we foolish with our resources? Like drunk fools on shore leave.

Well, the problems in Iowa are obvious to me. Bush and his cronies have undermined the levees in an attempt to flood the plains to increase the shortage of corn and drive the prices up to satisfy their corn producing buddies. :blsmoke:

I'll bet those people in Cedar Rapids would fail to see the humor in your post. Lets see how the asshole does in the aftermath, Eh?
