DWC Water temp ??

What would the lowest temp i could have my water inside my dwc ? I know about 68 is recommended ... im looking for the coolest temp the water can be , without hurting the plants ? I tired to google , but i cant find an answer ... only the recommended temps

when i switch my water bottles the water temp drops as low as 58F for a couple hours. i never notice any difference. i never let my temp higher than 68F.

Dont go below 50f. This will slow the plants metabolism, slowing growth

I have had them in mid-50s for few hours as well with no noticeable difference in slowing down. I used to keep the temps near 68 always but lately they hav been near 72ish as its cooler here and thought I would give the ice bottles break. The plants seem to grow faster with slightly higher temps at least with bene's in there... Nothing above 73 though... I make sure of that.. Roots look same.

Roots perform there best at 75 degrees Fahrenheit... Water contains its most oxygen at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Beneficial fungi thrive at 82-86 degrees Fahrenheit. Beneficial bacteria thrives at 104-117 degrees Fahrenheit. Logic says warmer water is better for roots if you are using beneficials. If you are not using beneficial than cooler water is ideal. There is no point to going below 60 degrees Fahrenheit as you will not get more DO in the water.

My water is usually 75 degrees and I use beneficials and never get root rot.

Beneficial's are Bacteria and fungi that aid plant growth. They come in powder or liquid form. Its apart of the make up you may find in the micro ecosystem in organic soil. You can cultivate your own in liquid form in what we call a tea mixture. Hydroponic shops sell them ready for use like the liquid aqua shield which is derived from liquid compost or things like ocean forest or great white and so on and so forth.

45 degree's is the lowest I have ever went and it did slow the growth down to half but it also bumped the resin production up 200%. Any where in the 60's is perfect for growth. Really cold water will also turn your plant purple, some of the buds at least.
