Upgrading my 90w ufo?

Hi guys I have a 90w UFO 90 x 1watt LEDs ratio 7:1:1 red(630nm):blue(450nm):yellow(590nm)And I'm using it in a cabinet grow the cabinet is 1foot deep 2 foot high 2 foot wide, covered in aluminium foil and Mylar and 2 x 48w 5000k cfls on either side of the cabinet with the UFO attached to the top of the cabinet equaling 186 w though the led us supposedly the equivilant of a 300w hps/mh set up, is this enough light for 3-4 solo pots or a my 4 plants DWC container, cabinet has a 100mm computer fan pulling air out keeping the box at 28' Celsius max of 33 during hot days.

If the cfl/LED mix is no good or the led needs to be stronger am I able to purchase 3 watt LEDs and replace them myself?

I wouldn't retrofit 3W LED's into that UFO. You'll need a new driver, you'll have to rip out all the 1W diodes, you'll have to worry about over heating, and last, but not least, you'll have to worry about your headache while attempting to perform this balancing act.

For 2 square feet I'd say you're fine. If you get a bigger room, or wanna get rid of those CFL's I'd say start from scratch while building your own LED side lighting, or whatever you had in mind.

BS is 100% correct.

The only thing I would do is replace the cfls with CREE WW Led globes or/and spots

IMHO, the ~ $30 for 3 of these would pay HUGE dividends

Do you guys know any tutorials on building led grow lights and I will also look into the Cree bulbs I saw a few low wattage ones the other day

There are several DIY threads on RIU, if that's your thing. Personally I like to keep my DIY KISS

HD has a big section with CREE lights. They just moved it from way in the back of the store to the end of a main isle

Tutorial:
Figure out amount of LEDs and drivers you want to use, match amount of LEDs the drivers can handle
Epoxy LEDs to metal
Connect + to - on LEDs and first + to red wire on driver, last - to black wire on driver. Plug into wall. Done

So simple a 5 year old can do it.. literally, I have taught a few 5 year olds how to solder an LED light together and they were able to do it by themselves after a few minutes of practice.
