Mushroom storage

Honey...tasty also :-) ...store em soon..I long time ago I gave my dad an ounce,he and a friend split a quarter..had a blast..then put em in his desk drawer for 3 months..ate some at that point and nothing happened..at the whole bag and he got nothing..and it happend to a good friend also..so,HURRY UP..LOL...

By honey, do you mean just putting the dried mushrooms in a jar and filling the jar with honey? When you eat them do you pick them out and leave the honey?

From my experience, the psilocin leaches out,you just heat the honey and throw in rough crumbled shrooms(or raw one,but measure accordingly,I don't. Reccomend this for long storage due to water)...heat at low, very quicky, then cool quickly and mash through a screen...best method of eating is dipping a butter knife in it and licking both sides...

Hrm. That seems like a bit of a hassle. Beside, I actually like the taste of mushrooms, I could munch on them all day!

You asked about storage, not taste..if you don't care either way, freeze them, but the have to be consumed very quickly after they are taken out the freezer..don't plan on takin em out thurs for the sat camping trip...

I've heard just drying them properly and placing them in a mason jar will preserve them nicely for up to 6 months. I'd say three just to be safe. I've also heard storing the jar in the freezer keeps them good for a year.

If not in the freezer, store in a cool and dark place. Things that lower potency.. light, heat, and air. The better you control these, the better your shrooms will be preserved. :bigjoint:

I had a friend freeze chocolates with little potency loss over a year..but he had so many shrooms he didn't care either way,but in this off hand experiment it proved they can last that long, although I don't reccomend it.

If they stay dry, they can last a long long time with little loss of potency. I had a pound last 3 years without much loss.
