Week 4 of flowering 6 nice pics and I have questions!

Q-1 So my first question is how are they looking?

This is my first time ever truly budding out my own plants I'm very exited and eager to learn all I can. I have 4 plants under a 1000 watt light. They were all at least 2.5 feet if not taller when I started to flower and they were topped and became nice and bushy. They are in 7 gallon pots and are being fed every other watering 3/4 dose of maxibloom (5-15-14) powdered mix nutrients. In 2 days it will have been 30 days since I started 12/12. I have one sativa plant that is looking like it will take longer to finish. Are sativas known for there late harvesting? The other 3 are hybrids I think. I know one is jack the ripper. What can I expect on yield? Between the 4 plants I have about 26 main fat boy tops and about 20 smaller ones on the mid to bottom of the plants. I'm also adding three 65 watt CFLS (300 watt equivalent) into the mix to increase the resin development.

(the Last picture is the plant I think is more sativa and will take longer to flower. 10 to 12 weeks.)

So here are my 3 questions
1-How are they looking?/How am I doing?
2-Do sativas take longer to flower?
3-What can I expect for yield with 4 plants under a 1000 watt light. (Started budding at 2.5 feet)

Bonus question!
How to tell when they are ready to be picked? Do their tricoms turn amber? and Where can I get a lens to see that close?

Thanks So much,
Mr.28grams

The last pic and the one that I think is sativa and I also think it will take longer to bud is much taller then the other plants I just trained him down when she was younger so I would Have an even canopy.

Sativa's are notorious for taking longer to flower. It could be up to 80 days in flowering, some even 100. However, it looks like you have got a bit of heat stress going on in there. Are you using any type of fans, oscillating or non-oscillating? Is that 1000w a cooled hood? Also, you would get one of those scopes at any hydro store. From the way its looking right now (and this is just my opinion from looking at your pictures), it doesn't look like you have very good air flow in there, those buds will most likely be very airy and not as dense.

1. Looks good.

2. Yes, Sativa take longer ( Suggest you get a Scope)

3. Your guess is as good as any.

I have an oscillating fan on the ground and one that is hung up on the wall and pointed directly threw the mid to tops of the plants. I have a spot for an inline fan but i need the scratch to buy one. I have em in the shed right now but i get payed this week and im building a room in the garage. So airflow is a bit of a problem but not to serous and most of the buds besides the sativa are looking very dense

1-plants look nice, when the white hairs start to recede and turn colors, it will be time to check Trichromes…

2- yes…

3-anywhere from 20g per to 100g…each plant…up to 100 lbs…

Answer to Bonus question: I got my lens off the net, for like $5.00 and free ship… get one in two days…

Tric’s do turn Amber/Tea colored, and that is what you do not want… Shoot for 90% cloudy/milky… A few crystal/clear tric’s… and a Few Amber/Tea colored [which contain degrading THC]…

Little known fact: Once you harvest plant the Trics will continue to rippen, Some milky ones turn amber, while you are drying, and curing…

thanks everyone for the advice. My power went out for 4 or 5 hours i guess so my timer kicked off and when i got home last night my light was still on. It ran for about 16 hours yesterday i think. How bad will this effect my plants?

one mishap isnt too bad, just try to limit any excess light because they need their darkness. Just dont count on a day-count of when to harvest, get a loupe or scope (i got mine on amazon.com shipped for 3 bucks 100x scope) and check the trichomes around week 7. Once you start seeing amber its about time to chop but you want mostly milky so dont wait too long. You'll learn from each grow how you like it best, experiment a little.
