Grow Room in Storage Locker

First I just want to start off saying hi to everyone, this is my first time on this forum.

Straight to the point though, I wish to grow in an indoor storage container facility that is in the basement of my apartment complex.

Growing would be legal of up to 15 plants (WA medical law) but does that legality go out the window when it's in a rented storage locker.

I imagine it would be possible to run a fairly power efficient OP off of just the power coming from the light socket.

Furthermore since it's in the basement of my apartment complex it would be less suspicious visiting it, and when checking out the prices I told them I might be using the power from the socket to charge an electric motorcycle, which they were fine with.

I'd like to hear your advice on this, I've read most of the other thread's posted on the internet about this idea. Most seem to think it's high risk, but is that risk averted if state law allows growing?

Finally, do you have any other advice for grow locations if in apartment and outdoors are out of the questions, perhaps a different location that is more suitable to rent that would allow growing up to 15 plants.

Thank's everyone.

P.S. I'm thinking the space bucket setup with LEDs and airflow routed through a carbon filter to keep odor down, along with ONA gel.

It sounds entirely possible but more plants is a lot better IMO. I'm moving this to the General MJ Growing forum where it will get a lot more appropriate attention and welcome to RIU!

I would assume you could talk to property owner/manager and explain your situation. and figure out if you can even use that space without breaking anything in your lease.

You wouldn't want to be evicted from your apartment AND lose all your plants/gear.

Or as you planned, invest in a good Carbon Scrubber(not a no name brand off ebay) to erase all smell from the garden and attempt to keep it stealth within your storage unit.
However you would need to keep on top of that when it comes time for flowering. You'll want to seal that room off as much as possible from any scent leak even WITH the carbon filter in there. And the ONA. also ONA has misters now. I think they are motion activated. so you may be able to get one for outside the unit if it doesn't raise suspicion.

Anyways as potpimp said

Thanks for the move, and thanks for the welcome!

Thanks! And would you happen to have a link to one of those ONA misters, I haven't seen one online yet.

Even though you say the basement storage unit is safe and that people wont be suspicious I would be careful about that. In my experience there is always someone watching somewhere. In order for you to do a proper grow you will have to visit the storage unit quite often people will notice you making extra trips to the basement.

Gotta' ask. You do know your avatar is actually a shot of Hendrix, or maybe I missed something with the Marley/Hendrix twist?

Exactly. Particularly if you're relatively new to growing, you'll be down there far more than anything considered normal visits to a basement storage unit. There's a host of other reasons related to the realities of a grow that make it just a little too hairy a location to work with. Don't know how much you've poked around on RIU or elsewhere, but the micro/stealth section is loaded with all sorts of creative ideas for a small apt that can be surprisingly productive, and a lot safer. Years ago I was able to get about 1/2 lb per month out of a couple modified chests of drawers that were gutted of drawers w/false fronts where I mounted the drawer fronts to a removable stained sheet of 1/2" plywood. A small modified armoire served as mother and clone stations. It wasn't as complicated to set up as it may sound but worked well. It was back in the day when our complex had walk thru inspections every six mos, largely because we lived in drug dealer central part of town. None was the wiser.
