You are just bang on! Love the effort you are putting into your posts and the help and details you're providing to fellow newbs like myself. I too need the microscope/magnifying glass. But we don't have radio Shack anymore dammit. Can you post a pic of your lights? How you jimmy rigged those looks good. I too have pain issues. Herniated disc's in the neck. Chronic pain. Don't forget to weigh your yield. I'd like to see what you end up with.
Above is my main plant which I'm growing outside. She went into flower about a week ago. Little one is one of her clones. And i am not having a lot of luck cloning either!

No worries if you don't have a radioshack near you....just order it on radioshack.com, click ADD TO CART...and ka-blamo! They'll deliver it right to your weed mansion ;)

I have a few pics of my lights in my previous posts but, I'll made sure to include a good upclose pic of my lights when I upload my weekly update for flowering week #12.

I'm sure I'll take a ton of pics of my final yield, but to weigh it? I don't know if I have a scale handy to weigh all that shit. Besides....I've been pinching nuggets here and there and smoking them so it's hard to say what my absolute final yield will be.

All I know is you're gonna get some great buds off of your big girl (congrats on her going into flower btw:bigjoint:). But...keep in mind if it's not too windy where you are...you'll need to put an oscillating fan on her to strengthen up her stems to support the buds. otherwise the stems will literally topple over from the weight of the bud. But if it's windy enough where you are...then keep doing your thing. But if not...then don't be afraid to throw a fan on her. Otherwise she's gonna be a monster!!!! The little looks like she's coming along too ;)

Sorry to hear about your pain. Herniated discs in the neck aint no friggin' joke. Thank God we got some good medicine growing in our gardens ;)

I'll upload week #12 tomorrow. in the meantime...I did another mini-harvest today and I'll upload those pics too.

best.

Wanted to do another little mini-harvest to get some weed I can smoke during the day time. That way I have something to smoke that can kill the pain without without it putting me to sleep. So I grabbed a small stalk that had almost all cloudy trichomes and here she is:

Time for a lil' haircut...

And with a buzz cut like that...she's ready to enlist ;)

Gotta save the sweet leaf trimmings to make cannibus butter later on...

Drying it out...

To be Continued...

Yup saw the lights but didn't see the entire fixture. It has been windy enough here I think it for her stalks. My choc lab wags her tail so hard when she walks by its like an oscillating fan! I have done some LST and bending. Her main branches are tied to the pot too. The little clone is way bigger now and I had to move them indoors because the days are shortening up and I don't want her to flower yet. Still want to clone her.
You make me laugh!! Nipping into your bud. Get a scale man we need to know the yield!! Thanks for the radio Shack tip. I have a cheesy scale I am going to use. My brother has one too. Smoked some of my brothers weed....one hit and I was knuckled! BC bud. Want hum to send me some seeds cause I am in ontario.

I went 3 different places to find a pocket microscope, and each sales representative i talked to seemed very confused at the notion.
Looks like unless i can work out a way to purchase one online from radioshack, ebay or amazon, i may just have to do without.
I heard of the crazy idea somewhere that you could use binoculars backwards, or a telescope eyepiece, but i'm high in doubt.
Anyway looking forward to your official harvest pictures :)

It was August 30th when I took these. And I started flower on June 8th. So that puts us at:

12th week of FLOWER.

UPDATE: Gave her only water for my last watering. Been checking her everyday to check the Trichomes but, I don't see it 25% amber yet. It's getting there though. Harvest is right around the corner.

Enjoy the pics.

As always...welcome your thoughts, comments, and suggestions ;)

Stay High,

best.

I had the same issue. Ended up buying a cheesy magnifying glass in the meantime. It was an entire Looney. I can buy online. Saw them there on all the sites. Also ask first a jewelers loupe, might get you somewhere. Saw a jewelers loupe on Amazon that enables you to wear like glasses. Was $8.

Looking really good. You are going to need another plant to occupy yourself or several. The growing is as therapeutic as the end result ain't it! Thanks for the light pics. Will be utilizing these shots for my reference.

The microscope from radioshack has really come in handy. you can really zoom in and see the trichomes up and personal. its really cool actually. all those crystals...it's like looking at Superman's Fortress of solitude under my microscope😄

but i also have a loupe and it def helps too. As for the loupe I use. I just got that shit at Amazon. I hold it up to my iphone when I'm taking pics and Ka-Blamo!!! Shit is money son!!!! (Plus it only cost me less than $2...can't beat that with a stick).

SE - Loupe - Doublet, Chrome Plated, Round Body, 30x, 21mm

my girl smoked my weed last night and she took about 3 bong hits and told me it was the highest she had ever been in her life. And that shit carries weight bc she smokes almost everyday to ease her arthritis. She looked at me, her eyes all bloodshot and said "what kind of fucking Narc weed did you grow man!?!! I'm completely zonked!"

Lol

Skeptical as i may have been, i came across a pair of old binoculars..
Didn't get the make, or the power, but they did come in their own black zipper case..
They are adjustable, i turned them to the closest focus, then flipped them backwards
Holding a finger up to the eyepiece, squinting through the wrong end, i saw a fingerprint.
When focused just right, i could see it razor sharp, and was at my ladies in a flash
You have to squint, it's like looking into a quarter of a dime sized image, but it certainly works.
I saw trich's that i didn't even know existed.. all were clear as glass but mesmerizing to look at.
Almost like a compact forest of crystal mushrooms..
Going to attempt to take a picture next time, through the binoculars, so i can show ya what i'm seeing!
Probably nothing compared to a microscope, or loupe, but I'll keep my eyes open for one in the meantime.

P.S Your girl looks like candy, what'd you use for fertilizer, flakes of gold and shards of diamonds? ;)

LOL! That's awesome man!! Yeah def send some pics. It's cool right once you get a chance to see that little world of trichomes hiding in your plant. Very cool man. Looking forward to the pics.

LOL. Thanks man. Yeah that bag of Fox Farm Gold flakes and Diamonds really made a difference. :eyesmoke:

Looking forward to harvest. She's almost ready.

Wow...great results with unknown genetics on a budget. Very inspiring. How is odour?
Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words ;)

As for odor. It's fucking strong man :) Especially in the morning when I wake her up out of my grow tent. Overall though it's pretty damn strong and I debated doing something about the odor but, it never got to the point where you could smell it outside of my apartment. And the aroma itself, as strong as it is...it's still somewhat contained in my bedroom since I have it growing in a grow tent (you can see my pics from earlier posts). The smell itself smells like 70% weed and 30% fresh grass clippings. It's actually a pleasant smell :leaf::shock::leaf::lol::leaf::twisted::leaf:

Harvest will be soon...just waiting for a few more clear Trichomes to turn cloudy and a few more cloudy Trichomes to turn amber (there's hardly any amber ones).

MY PLAN FOR HARVEST
-Leave plant in darkness for 48 hours.
-Then, while in darkness, cut the main stem off of the plant at a 45 degree angle
-Then take the entire tree and put it in a bucket of ph balanced water for 24 hours.
-Then the next day take the plant and cut each individual branch off into a V.
-Hang the V upside down until dry.
-Cut nuggets and colas off of each stem.
-Place nuggets and colas in mason jars with air tight lids.
-"Burp" mason jars by removing their lids for about 30 minutes a day for the first 2 weeks...and then less and less as time goes on.
-Smoke.
-Get high
-Figure out meaning of life.
-Forget to write it down.
-Raid my fridge.
-The end.

....all kidding aside, am I missing anything?

I think it looks good. For harvesting and curing I follow the stickies in the harvesting and curing thread room. Slow hang dry, shooting for 10 days. Then the jar cure with hygrometer method. Yum!

Hey all,

****IT's HARVEST TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

It was Sept 3rd when I took these. And I started flower on June 8th. So harvest took place at exactly:

87 days of Flower

or

12½ week of FLOWER.

UPDATE:
--Checked her Trichomes today and I finally saw that most of them had turned cloudly...and there were slightly a few amber ones like I was hoping for. She's officially done ;)
--I gave her a big drink of water earlier this morning and sprayed her leaves with ph balanced WATER to get her ready for harvest.
--I am going to put her in complete darkness until Thursday evening (so she'll have 48 hours of complete darkness...I read about this on a few threads and by doing this, it spikes the plant's resin production as well as the THC potency), and then I'll do my official harvest.

In the meantime I took some last pics of her before I put her to bed tonight. It was kind've a sentimental moment. I mean, HOPE is the first weed plant I've ever grown in my life...starting off with 4 seeds...then 2 didn't survive germination. And of the 2 plants that did survive (HOPE and PHOENIX)...I almost killed them from over watering, burning them (by putting the lights too close) and over-stressing them (I must've re-potted them least 3 times). Then after finally limping my way into flower with my two plants....after a few weeks...only to find out that PHOENIX was a dude. I never forgot how disappointed I was because I thought HOPE was going to turn out to be a dude as well. Then the next day I took her out her tent and my eyes lite up when I saw these tiny pistils. I was sooooo happy!!! My girlfriend heard me scream from the other room "It's a girl!!!!!"

Then after nurturing her, battling through a balls hot summer with a 100 degree environment (living 3 stories up in the middle of a fucking heatwave is a fate worse than death). And after growing a brain and moving her entire grow tent into my bedroom where the AC was....I was able to get the temp down to 75-80 degrees. And then I finally saw my little girl begin to blossom. And she kept growing and growing until she turned into a monster!!! And I know there are plenty of pics out there of growers who've grown small forests of weed...with colas the size of Bill O'Reilly's ego...and I know in comparison all of my rinky dink buds don't even compare. I'm just saying...it's a cool feeling to have started off with a random seed from my grinder...and to now have this plant in my bedroom with all of these buds just waiting to be smoked.

A cool feeling indeed ;)

I cannot thank you guys enough for subscribing to my noob thread and coming along with me on this amazing journey. You've all been so awesome and supportive and it means more than you'll ever know. I went out of my way to detail every failure and victory I had in my growing experience so that a complete and utter fucking noob could look at this thread and have a clear cut idea of how to do their own CFL grow. The harvest I'm about to reap isn't so much a testament to my gardening skills as it is the resiliency of the cannibus plant ;) In other words....if you're a noob reading this now debating on whether or not you have what it takes to get the same results? Let say this with the utmost confidence: If I can grow...so can you ;)

Anyway...enjoy the pics of HOPE's final photoshoot. Will upload pics of her harvest in a few days or so.

Thanks again for coming along for the ride ;)

As always...I welcome anyone's thoughts and suggestions.

Will upload my final harvest pics soon.

Best

Awesome :P You put a lot of hard work into her and she certainly paid off for ya :)
Her buds have definitely changed color, like a fall tree. Snowy trichs, shes finally ready :D
Killing her is kinda sad, but i'm sure you'll get so stoned you'll forget all about her funeral ;)
Excited for ya!
