2 week old White Widow with browning leave tips?

So I have 2 White widows 2 weeks old from seed in FF Ocean Forest Soil.

- No Nutes added and I think I might have over-watered yesterday as the pot saucer came out half full.

-Temp: 77 - 79 F
-Humidity: 47%
- CFL distance from plant: 1.5 inches



Only happening to one of the plants and the cotyledons are turning yellow for this one. Do you think its overwatering or something else?

Looks like a heat issue, but doesn't make sense since you said your temps are below 80. Could also be a sign of ph imbalance. What is your current run off ph?

I'm a new grower. But I've had the same experience with ffof burning my seedlings. Transplant to happy frog and check your ph. Seems like a cal/mag issue too. But try the soil first. Don't feed it any nutes! There's tons in the ffof allready. Probably enough to get thru veg. There should be some more experiences growers showing up soon to help out. That's my take on it, less is more.

Do you find the soil water runoff PH level by taking samples from the runoff? I only have one of those manual PH kits where u adjust to a PH color chart.

The runoff is the excess water that runs out the bottom of your planter. You take that water and measure the ph of it to find out what the ph is after running through your soil.

6.5 to 7.0

Do you have a fan blowing on it?? My wwxbb is getting spots exactly like that on the leaves that aren't getting adequate light/air flow.

Yea I literally have a oscillating fan blowing the plants like 1.5 feet away. It seems weird because I have 3 plants in total and only this plant is like this. The others look fine.

So many of you are saying I should flush it. I believe its a 1 Gallon pot so if I were to flush it again with say distilled ph-adjusted water, wouldn't it release again the fertilizer in the soil again?

In order to flush soil, you need to flush the soil with twice as much water as the container. So you would flush with 2 gallons of water for 1 gal pot

Just a little Update, these pictures were taken after the plants 4 hours of darkness, kinda getting worst.




Yesterday seemed like only this one was pretty bad, and today this one got worst.



This one was the sexiest one of them, but it turned a little more brown of the tips.



And this baby was totally fine yesterday, however today it seemed like it caught on to her sisters.

Ok I just flushed the half a gallon pot with 1 gallon of ph 6.5 adjusted water. And I collected the water sample from the runoff, and it was about 5.7 -6.0 PH.

Here's an update a day after flushing and its dark period. Kinda what i expected, droopy, more browning

Do you think the plant can repair the browning and curling or should I cut some of them off?

I am doing DWC, but mine had some crazy shit like that happen when I first got going into veg good. Went out of town for a couple of days and BOOM. They drank more water than nutrients and my PPMs got to high. This caused nutrient lock out. A few days later they were praying for food like yours appear to be doing. When that happens they don't eat shit. I just backed my PPMs down to half of what they were by adding PH'd water to my bucket and prayed for the best. They pulled through just fine, but it took about 2-3 days to start seeing a difference. When I saw my new growth was good and they started perking up I stopped worrying so much. The growth will not repair itself. I would be looking to see if you have any new growth going on. That would be your first sign of shit going good again. I only cut the leaves that were completely no use to the plant anymore. If you squeeze the browning and curled areas and it's crispy and crumples and falls off then no biggie. It wasn't of use anymore. When I see super dead foilage going on I start think bugs are gonna start swarming the place. lol

So 2 days after flush, don't know what to think. Might recover or not, i'm not sure.


Plant 1


Prolly the most healthiest of them all. Seems like only the middle leaves have browning tips and curling upwards.





Plant 2


Sickest of them all. 2 sets of those leaves turned 90% brown and are actually dropping onto a healthy leaf underneath it. I'm worry its blocking the light to the bottom leaf, Im comtemplating cutting it off.


If you look at it from the side. The stems look like a cross. LOL R.I.P.





Plant 3


This one looks alright but I do see some browning tips.





I'm thinking of using nutes in the next watering.
