I heard this from my moms neighbor, he supposedly was an ex-grower, and mentioned something about midol dissolved in water with cannabis seeds can feminize them. Yes THE midol, the pain reliever for women.

Is he just being stupid or has anyone heard of this?

WTF MATE!!!!!!! Feminized seeds is a way of breeding a female with another female pollinating as a last resort to ensure the species. So "femalexfemale" genes are the only genes passed to the seed. Results are mainly fems with a few herms.

i have heard it works and increases chances of all females by 10% but thats such a small percentage, not knowing how the study was done, it could mean absolutley nothing- someone tried it- got lucky- and reported it... But it cant hurt to try... do it, and if it works than the results have twice as much validity, still little validity, but get the ball rolling

For science...

thats not true ghengis... those are the worst seeds- and can be male or female just like all others...

Feminized seeds come from running a low voltage electrical current through your seeds environment to charge them in such a way it destroys some of their ions or something... I have also heard about carbon monoxide being used for 48 hr drownings of the seeds and it has worked consistently...

There are do it your self techniques for feminizing seeds...

But Hermy seeds are awful, and can go either way, and very often carry with them the trait of hermyism

there was a post about a week ago about feminizing seeds. Using a solid silver dollar and an electrical current. Some how the electrical currrent through the water and silver put some of the silver into the water. Then you feed that water to your female plant and she makes pollen sacks, like a Hermi. Then you use that female pollen that has no male genetics in it, to breed with another female. And presto!!! Feminized seeds. Do a search its a interesting thread. I am too lazy to do the process, or for that fact even find the link for you :)

How is that any different than a hermi just pollinating it's self and other females. You stress the plant in one way or another producing male pollen sacks and then pollinate females with them.. and as far as I know a female plant with a male pollen sack is considered a hermaphrodite.

In genetics you have 50% from each parent. In cases of 90% of the seeds out there, the parents are male and female. So, you have male genetics in that seed. When you force a female to flower, without converting to a hermi, but still producing pollen, you have straight female genetics. This is done i think, after the plant turns female. Then you have 50/50 both parents female. No male genetics to pass on.

But hey, realistically, im just spitting out shit i read last week. But it makes sense.

ok so I got a question. If I have a full garden from clone so I know they were girls. Then I brought in a mystery strain like a dumb ass, it ended up being a hermi, I noticed too late, it caused about then plants around it to have seeds on it, it was good bud, but seeded. Was this because of the hermi? And if so are those seeds a cross of my female (carnival from ministry of cannabis) and the mystery strain?

Did the hermie pop and distribute pollen or did you catch it beforehand?

Was your garden indoor or outdoor?

I am just wondering if the genetics will be a cross of the ministry of cannabis carnival and the mystery strain, possibly trainwreck. So if that hermi trainwreck made my female carnival plant seed, does that make the seed a cross?
