im waiting on my seeds from nirvana shop but i got some from my buddy who ordered some months ago. this is more for germination ive tried paper towl method but it always gets cold and upstairs is hot for them to stay warm. but i want to do a cfl grow and i want to germinate by putting seeds in moistened soil with homemade dome pieces from cut mayo jars for more humidity is this effective will it work?? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can definitely plant them directly into the soil. Just keep then moist. But, if bet a thin layer of plastic wrap is a lot easier to work with than mayo jars. You'll wasn't to remove the humidity dome, whatever you use, once it's lost the shell.

Cheers!

I get these shower cap like bowl covers and they are a bunch of different sizes. I plant mine straight in a solo cup with one of the covers on top (they aren't super snug so some air can still reach the soil) Then I use a spray bottle with ph'd water to keep it moistened but NOT WET.

within 3 to 5 days, they pop. On bagseed, I scarify the shell a little bit to improve germination. Hope you get some seedlings soon buddy;)

i tried it last night soil was moist and lose and i checked today and the soil wasnt even that warm from my heat bulb. no i put the seed in a cup with water and it sank due to being in moist soil. and i put saran wrap o top of cup with a hotter bulb over it to keep water warm btu as soon as it cracks in the cup i am putting it in soil right away i did the pinch test and 1 out of 2 were good so now i am waiting for my big order from nirvana should be here this week or next week im hopinh !!!

I drop the seeds in a cup of filtered water in the dark for 48 hours. Then put the beans in a wet paper towel, put the paper towel in a ziplock baggy, and in the dark for another 24 hrs. Once there is 1/2 inch or so of sprout, I put into soil. Seems to work every time unless the seed isn't viable to begin with.

i got one soakin the a cup right now the one that i put in the soil cause the soil wasnt warm enough but now i switched up lighting so its warm now but as soon as she cracks and shows some of the tap root she is going in the soil. im not going to try the paper towel method ive tried and tried and some seeds got killed from over heating with a heat pad cause it will start off warm and than end up cold...

I dont use a heating pad..any dark room/closet/cabinet from 70-80 should be fine. in the ziplock baggie it retains moisture and heat, like a greenhouse effect...but whatever you feel comfortable with =)

i used the heating pad thing once and it killed 3 seeds tap roots never popped i pinched them they popped and the tap roots were cooked lol.... but my house thew way it is will be hot as hell upstairs than bam next minute be cold so i got the cup/water/seed in a cardboard box. with a cfl over top of it keepin it warm with the box shut.

How cold is it? Seeds will germ from like 68 to 85 degrees. 70-75 being optimal, I believe. Don't over-think it, brother. Throw it in a cup of water in the dark and check it tomorrow. If you don't see anything, check it the next day...takes 3-5 days ( 2 in cup, 1-2 in papertowel/ziplock)depending on the seed before my seeds go into soil. I just don't want water log the seeds so I throw them into the papertowel/ziplock which is my method for germinating anything I grow (fruits, veggies, flowers etc). Good luck!

ok thank you. i miracously found a seed on the ground and i know it was from a bag of some good good too lol i just threw that one in the water cup as well. should i keep it dark or still have my ligth on the cup to keep water warm? and the new seed is floating to and i pnched it to test no cracks :)

No light. Keep it in the dark. You can try to push the seed down in 30 minutes if it's still floating....if it doesnt go down, don't worry...push it down when you check it tomorrow.

I did a cfl. 300 watts in a 2x2 room I built. 2 bulbs with hoods on top, 1 on the side. Small fan for circulation/stem strength. I don't have to stealth so fresh air/humidity/temp no problem. My house stays around 70, humidity is at 45-50% and I always open a window to keep fresh air coming in. I will be increasing watts for my next grow.

I just stick em' in my wifes pu**y :o..it's dark, hot, and really wet in there :fire:...oh wait we're talking about beans...:wall: ...yep stick em' in a solo cup and keep them moist and warm, I use a heating pad for my beans and clones..and if you want a humidity dome, cut the bottom off a 2 or 3 liter pop bottle and use it, but it's not neccesary for beans, just clones IMO..

RIKN :o:o:o OMGosh!!! yer crazy buddy!!!!! :o:o:o LMFAO

stick it in a solo cup with good soil, poke you a little hole in the middle, drop the bean in. Cover with soil. Mist well with pH'd water. Cover loosely with plastic wrap. Light or dark doesn't matter, trust me. I have sprouted under both conditions myself. Really not as big of a deal as it seems, just take your time and don't forget, it's a bean. It will take 3-5 days to pop if it is viable. No soaking or other stuff necessary unless it's bag seed that you aren't sure about what it's genetics are. You're gonna do great OP!!

ill just leave em in the cup with water in darkness until i see a tap root then pop them in soil and i know these 2 seeds are bag seed well yea in a way lol but it was in a bag from some blue cheese and the one seed was ordered from mystery box from nirvana my buddy bought them

Dont wait for it to crack, it will have soaked enough water into the embrio overnight, you dont want to wait until the tap root is showing. Just put in water in dark overnight then put in jiffys.. like ive told you 3 times bro lol :wall:
