Black Lines when taking a picture

Hello RIU this might be a stupid question but when i am taking pictures of my plants under a 600w hps bulb it leaves black lines across the screen of my phone was just wanting to know of any devices that can capture a good picture with the lights on

Thanks

A quality camera. Probably won't be attached to a phone, unless that new camera smart phone has white balance.

That happens everytime one takes a pic with HPS lights on, has to due with the lights spectrum, I believe, turn off HPS when taking pics of plants.

i used to get these with my old magnetic ballast, but don't get them with my new digital ballast.. very odd indeed..

but like dee tee says, just wait for the second your lights go out and snap away.. :D

Or, take a relatively decent powered flashlight, and point it at the HPS bulb when taking a picture...go on, try it. :)

lol *shakes head*
Im pretty sure this forum even has a a sticky to turn the lights off during photos and the why :)

You can:
A. Turn the HID light off during photo and use a flash
B. Use a polarized lens (doesnt always work)
C. Use a camera with a quicker shutter speed

Magnetic ballasts cycle at around 60 Hertz which will will interfere with most camera phones causing the lines...
Digital ballast cycle in a much higher range and generally cause no issues at all

Cheers Jimmy.
