Guns don't kill people, gun owners kill people.

In these conversations I enjoy asking what people don't want to discuss about issues that are black and white and I still go forward. I apologize if I insulted any of you a bit and appreciate the real answers some were nice enough to share. The important thing to me is respect, we all could get better at that. The truth we hold so close to our heart, perspective is bittersweet and lies make right and wrong easier for everyone. Be Safe.

You know why criminals have guns? Because they can buy them in any backward state that requires hardly any proof that you are not a criminal or insane to purchase one. So in essence the gun laws that are so opposed by the NRA, actually allow criminals to legally purchase them. Makes a lot of sense, right? So when I hear that only criminals will have guns if there are restrictions placed on them, I find that argument to be ridiculous seeing as most guns used in crimes had been legally purchased because of lax gun laws. It's kind of like complaining about a car thief after he steals your car, when you left the key's in it.
Well they are criminals if they have bad intent when buying/selling the gun to begin with also you are legally responsible to make sure the person you make a private sale to is legally able to purchase the firearm/s and not a fruit loop or else you can be trouble for selling the gun to them. a lot people call the police to ask about the person before selling the gun to make sure they can own it and many buyers call and ask about the serial number to find out of its stolen or been used in a crime or they make the person go to the station with them to make sure everything is 100% legal then once they know its legal they finish the transaction write a receipt with serial number for purchase for proof and go on their way. You seem to act like most people just walk around everywhere in these states with private purchases for long guns like hey dude you have a gun to buy the stranger hands them the money and its that quick most people only privately sell firearms to people who are friends, family, or friends of family they know or find them on Armslist they email the owner to talk then meet up face to face where you should be able to cast judgement or if you are not convinced involve the police like many do if someone is unfit to the own the gun and you can deny the sale .
A lot of guns used in crimes that were LEGALLY purchased were ILLEGALLY stolen from a person who did nothing wrong unless you want to say being a victim of gun theft makes you guilty which is why your are suppose to lock up your firearm/s and pay attention to them not leaving them in your house unknowingly and know where they are at all times also even if the gun law is more strict criminals will steal just steal guns from people allowed to own them whether they are police military or have a special permit gun violence misuse will never stop until ever gun is wiped off this earth and I'm sorry but that will never happen sadly.

It has to do with safety, not your rights. Stop being selfish while acting patriotic. This is my fucking opinion!!! Earn the right to endanger others by educating potential gun owners extensively. Wanna gun? prove it. All these criminals to fight are probably going to know their weapon. Have respect.
Have respect enough to go back and read DC vs Heller.

...ROTFLMAO, man you just make one idiotic statement after another.

people are people which means there are intelligent criminals and not so intelligent politicians, for example, Joseph Kennedy was an intelligent criminal who didn't need a gun to make millions selling illegal alcohol during the days of prohibition, then you have his grandson Patrick Kennedy who recently retired from politics knowing that he was about to be shitcanned by his constituents for gross incompetence, ...sadly those same constituents replaced him with a bonafide thief named David Cicciline.
I wasn't making a case for not allowing to morons to own guns. I'm sorry If I offended you.

...the hard way would be for you to be murdered by an illegal gun owner because you fooled yourself into thinking that gun laws would protect you.

...oh yeah, it's 'on' purpose and 'by' accident, 'on accident' sounds like something from one of those low IQ folk. ...'accidentally' works ok as well.

peace, bozo

OP's "Study" said:
Results. Gun ownership was a significant predictor of firearm homicide rates
Wow, truely innovative work.

Gun ownership corrolates with guns being used to kill people?

Profound.

Yeah, he took the wrong bounced end, out of a 1/2", 10' of metal tube, on a job site.

Or, when the hook straightened as he was taking his boat out of the water.

Or when he left his dirt bike in neutral on the kickstand, and it rolled off and over on him gouging with the clutch lever.

Three guys I know of.

Real funny until someone loses an eye. :)

...so what you're saying is we should outlaw steak knives? ...or sinks?

...son, you don't offend me, i'm trying to lift the veils of bullshit the liberal media has burned into your brain, ...the founding fathers of this country included the right to bear arms into the constitution so that the ordinary citizens would then have the power to prevent the country from being taken over by despots, ...THOSE are the criminals we need protection from the most!

...and lets not forget that you should have the right to own a gun so you can protect yourself from someone holding HIS gun upside your head and ordering you to blow him, lets say. ...the point is, in that scenario, if you aren't armed, you're helpless.

Believe it or not, I actually own rifles and shotguns that I use for sport and hunting. I do not own a hand gun because I find them unneeded for most purposes except for police officers, criminals, or people like Zimmerman who are paranoid fruitcakes. I actually was a NRA member before Lapieer high jacked it to suit militant gun owners who didn't want their 30 round clips and AK'S and AR's taken away. I actually support gun ownership, but only after EXTENSIVE background checks, which does not exist today. Something should, and has to be done to take weapons away from the insane and those that buy guns that are purchased simply to resell to people that couldn't get one legally. I live on the East coast and I know personally that if I wanted a hand gun I can get one in a few day's, ones that were purchased legally in South Carolina.. Another reason that I am opposed to military type weapons with 30 round clips, is that one in the hands of a deranged individual can cause much more damage than an ordinary hand gun. I live in a town that unfortunately experienced that first hand, where a damaged individual with a Bushmaster that he was allowed access killed over 20 children. Too many sick individuals in this country to allow basically unrestricted access to weapons designed for carnage, and I think the Founding Fathers would agree with me.

Why allow the police handguns but not all the other civilians? All ... or none.
Also, why deny that a handgun is the only firearm suited to concealed carry?
Finally, i disagree with your judgment of the Founding Fathers. I counter that their intent was "if the Government has it we civilians have a right to it." "Bear arms" is generic, from a Swiss Army knife to an aircraft carrier.

I don't own a handgun because the state government made it a point for police to harass handgun owners in legislation.

Glad you like it. I kept it simple with a study that produced obvious results and a title to match.

I only wish the people who disagree could argue similarly.

I was quite clearly being sarcastic.

Let me out forward a hypothesis...I surmise that kitchen ownership corrolates with stabbings...
