Gavita was quick this time...

The DLI, optimal PPFD and saturation level depends greatly on the crop. I have no public papers to share about this, these are copyrighted research papers we can not distribute. But for a medical cannabis crop you will have a linear increase in yield following the ppfd to about 1000-1100 umol. After that the curve starts to top off with a saturation of the plant between 1400 and 1600 umol m-2 s-1. Beyond that yield decreases.

The standard red an blue narrowband LEDs certainly do not have a better spectrum than HPS. Though HPS lacks blue and green it does have a much wider spectrum of light than the average monochromatic LED, or even 3 at different wavelengths. We have yet to see a fixture (not a lab theoretical maximum output) that is able to beat HPS.

There are plants that thrive under orange and red light. In any case you should ideally not hang only HPS in a climate room. Professional climate rooms use a mixture of HPS and MH or just MH.

The Pro 1000 needs about 80-90 cm distance for an average of 1000 umol m-2 s-1.

Gavita and I differ greatly in ideal spectral performance for sure, obviously they are not up on their white led tech...but there umol levels are right inline with mine so think that I am on the right path for the ultimate light.

Damn sexy!
SCHWING!

I love those fall colors ..

Game on
Oh hell yeah, that is some straight up FIRE. As always, supremo herbage brother.
I just came in my pants... wow. Those are some beautiful flowers.. Class A all day +1 rep.
Thanks guys, they're coming out great. I really love this strain as a smoker/connoisseur, just not as a grower. My quality has been great with all my efficient lighting adventures...next time I am going to keep that quality and get a huge yield too. I just need to find a better strain. Probably just go dream...not everyone is growing it anymore...
Dutch logic......
haha. In my head I give him the gnarliest accent and giggle when reading his response.

Last response, I got what I needed, but check out that Dutch.
No problem, good luck.

Best regards, met vriendelijke groet,

Theo Tekstra

Beautiful nugs on that Inda Gro show. Bag appeal must come out crazy! Any dry nugs to show?

I was gonna say, Chem4 or a good cut of Diesel (ECSD or/aka AJ if possible) would be a great cut to grow for production and quality. But yea, Blue Dream is a given. I'm over it though even if it isn't around as much. Depends on price as usual lol.

Why on God's green earth would this not be distributable? It's information that would only support the statement. Anyhew nice work Tags and thanks for sharing that exchange in it's entirety.

I'll second everyone else too. Those flowers are on fire! Beautiful finish brutha. I can't wait to hear your smoke report. Any chance your next run with the Pontoon you could push a 13/11? I'm pretty sure you'll pick up some weight. Great job and thanks for sharing!

If memory serves me Gavita added the new dual ended 1000 watt HPS to make up for the lack of red-far red in their plasma lamp.

Now you have the worlds leading mfg of plasma grow lights asserting in this statement that all other technologies and their 'theoretical' contributions to our gardens as being inferior to HPS and then somehow forgets to mention plasma for recommended use in 'professional climate rooms'... well I believe in poker this is referred to as a 'tell'.

No dry yet...but it looks identical(but frostier) to the hps.

Indagro Day 53(still a week to go)

Then the hps 12days later(day 63) at harves

So I think this next week will be a good week for the IG's.

I try to be cool and grow something not everyone has, and dream was the king of the what everyone has category for a while. Diesel is in there too. But evertime I smoke dream I love it so it keeps calling me back.

IDK but they at least give an answer, that based on my research is pretty accurate. But I do wonder if that has been tested with there spectrum...meaning it could just be the hps saturation level...which now thinking about it is why it should be public I guess.

This is how I asked for it...
Where do you come up with that saturation level? Can you give me a link or source for that?

Let's be honest, most all led's have a better spectrum than any hps lamps, but there lack of light(umols) across the whole canopy not just the center is where they have fallen way short in the past(same problems with your plasma).

I did state which reflector I was referencing and considering you have your own reflectors those are what I was asking about. The whole system not the bulb.
The reason I said height is because I want to get ~1000umols at my canopy and that is about what my lights hang at. PPFD is most important because that is the light that is actually getting to my canopy not just being emitted in a spherical pattern.
You already know their response.

Not really sure what/how my next run is happening. It will be a few weeks. But probably no 13/10. ESC treatment for sure though.
So about that 8x8 grow tent again, i got some ideas but no one has posted any lights yet.
(4) AT660's. Really not sure if they are ready yet. But if you want led's in a full size garden and don't want to fall short of anything, they are the best unit imo.
Coverage is the biggest problem when in a full size garden...or accepting the coverage and buying enough units is one way to look at it too. But with the new AT it is a straight up 1 light for 1 light replacement of 1000w hps. And that is really key for me and bigger gardeners too.

Do you have a link, i cannot find at660 for sale anywhere, are these the ufo type lights?
Thank you for your help.

So I guess I pretty much need to get a meter to know where I am at. Don't really want to drop the cash on that but its good to know ~1000umols is what you should be shooting for. I'm a guess I am pretty close to that with my setup but definitely have some weaker areas in the corners and sides. Going to add 3 4' HOT5s 3000k to help balance out my spectrum since my LEDs have very little white. Only about 4 LEDs out of the 150 on each of my two panels are 6500k's. I'm thinking Jack Herer or Cinderella 99 for next round. Haven't see either of those strains in a real long time around here. Been doing blue dream for a while but I am kind of over it. Going to take one of my mothers and a OG mother and do a feminized cross and see how some blue OG turns out, but thats still a while away at this point.

They are just coming out...I have a prototype that I have been showing on here, but I have been using the older at120 models for a while now.
The AT660 is the big one(basically 4 little ones) and the AT200(new better at120) is the little one...

And there is a lot info more in post 151 of this thread for both the at660 and at200

The meter is really key to coverage ability for me. I know what 1000w hps are doing, and that is the performance I want(and better if I can)...so I base what I need for light on those numbers...
Center/peak: ~900-1000umols
2x2avg: ~650umols
4x4avg: ~355umols
I do believe that spectral efficiency can make up for a certain amount, because there would be less rejected/wasted light. But it is very unclear about what/how much is used. IMO at best it will only be about 20-30%. But that doesn't mean that I can't get higher output(umols) while having a great spectrum(for superior quality imo) and using less power to do it.
Getting umols to my canopy is my main goal. But how those umols are made is a choice and led's give more umol/w and can be done while targeting photosynthetically important spectrums at the same time.

But not everyone is comparing to the 1000w. Some only need to live up to 600w, so requirements are different. They(600w) are more efficient, but a 1000w still is way more light in total.

Exactly, just as you and everyone else is moving on I will take it over. I can only imaging blue dream yield and led quality.
I grew hazy OG(SSH x SFV) by cali con. I will never forget it. Back in the days of 6 plants and no keeping cuts for me. If swerve was a better guy I would get more beans, but maybe I will find the cut in socal again next time...

Tags you gotta try some northern lights #5 or any crosses with it. It yields pretty big and veg's fast. 3 ft in 6 weeks in 2 gals under par t5. I'd imagine led would veg faster. It tastes like sweet candy that sort of coats your mouth. Of course it gets you slowded. Medically its good for sleep, regular headaches, and appetite. Not much for major pain. But actually I do get arthritic pain in my arm. It does help with that. All my phenos are a NL 5 x sfv og

I always wanted to try a NL line but it was before my time when it was big and around a lot. I never have access to an untouched NL, except sensi beans($$$$$) I guess. I want to run one of the original NL if I am going to. Some of the pure'er Afghani/pakistani lines are really special. I ran bull rider and that was a cut I should have kept too.

So i cant find them anywhere right now.
You can call Apache and ask about them and they might have some. They are close to full production. Should have been done by now but that is a different story. They made 50 unit batch to test... all of them boughten already and wanting more. So full production was must and for what ever reason is why they lag so hard. If your name is Stanford or NASA you get shit done on the spot. Other wise we wait cause it is worth it.
