OK so I have had successful grows in soil and o decided to try something different and I have some question. OK so my setup is 30gal tote, 250GPH water pump tetra air pump up to 40gal with a 5" airstone Disk. Now my question is considering I'm using a 30gal tote should I be using 2 airstone Disk or is the one fine.... Now my next question is about nutrients OK so I'm using fox farm now how do I measure now that I've switched meaning on the schedule it says 2tesp BB 1tesp GB now it's a 30gal Res do I still use that much or do I double it cause how many gal the Res holds just confused on the feeding thanks for the help

Youre gonna need at least three airstones. Second get away from foxfarm they are not good especially now that they sold the company to Monsanto.

Lol OK I like foxfarm I've never gone wrong g with it and have had some tight buds plus nice big colas but thinks for the FIY I will definitely look into that company and thanks for the info on the airstones still need a answer on how to measure nutrients.

One disk for a 30 gal tote may not be enough. I suggest you get a few more air stones. I am using 4 aquarium style bubble bars all hooked to the same air pump you got in an 18 gal single rez bin. Are you planning to run multiple plants? If so you will want to have an air-disk under each one at the very least, no such thing as too many bubbles in DWC

I'm running 3 plants at a time I I brought another airstone today another 5" disk but one disk is putting out more bubble than the other

First of all, is this a single site system you have built; or is there multiple sites creating a recirculating DWC system. Secondly, the amount of air is dependent upon (3) principles: the amount of water in each module or the system entirely, the temperature of the water i.e. colder water carries a greater amount of dissolved oxygen, and the last rest upon if you creating a super aerated environment with large amounts of air being pumped into your water, and a highly aerated media such as expanded clay pellets; then your nutrient levels should be adjusted accordingly. More oxygen and greater circulation requires less nutrients. However, one must take into account if a "greenhouse" controlled type environment with CO2 proper humidity levels, temp levels, and large amounts of HID lighting is also being used then the plants will obviously require or be enabled to uptake more nutrients. I will advise you in this department to great effect if possible simply your nutrients as much as possible and also ensure you are using only R/O water to avoid pathogens and bacteria in you system. Dutch Master is a desirable line of nutrients due to the fact that they are very synthetic and pH drift is less of an issue. Be sure to check out my post from earlier under the same DWC/Hydroponics tab; chronicling my grow-op in a 256 site/ DWC recirculating system/ 12 - 1000watt/ Platinum OG bubba. I should be able to give more advise as time allows. Enjoy your experience, and as always be sure to document your findings so that you are able to become a master of your new technique.
