Ducting Inlet help needed

Does anyone have knowledge of how to make a ducting inlet more quite? cheers

Where is the noise from, the motor or the duct itself?

The unwanted noise is the draw from inlet, sucking air in . A 6" fan is about 3 meters from inlet.

I'm not use to a fan cool tube set up, just installed it. Would a Fan controller to turn the edge off the fan make a big difference?

I don't know if it'd help you, but I bought some of that 6" vent duct-wrap as my exhaust fans howled. They are now much quieter. I wouldn't say they're stealth, but it's much quieter. I wrapped the 8' section of flex pipe that's outside my grow-room.

I have just rerouted the fucker. The inlet is now in the loft at a length of 4mtrs near some cool air coming in and the outlet is just into the attic space too. I can easily physically keep my hand on the bottom of the cool tube with the 600w m/h on. I also drilled a 4" hole in the bottom of two buckets with 4 more 4" holes in the sides of the inner smaller bucket; stuffing it with fiberglass inbetween for the output as a baffle. A hard days work. Over and out mike.
