Started 16 bag seed and all females

K so I got this really good dank herb from my buddy in grants pass,OR he said he found seeds in his herb and just threw them in a planter out back literally tossed the seeds and wouldn't you know one of them grew into a beautiful female with some nice purple color on the leaves and bud only downside was the seeds in the bud no sign of balls anywhere on the plant anyway so I found like 50 seeds started 16 all at same time few months ago indoor and 2 weeks ago switched to 12/12 I go in there to check for males and start seeing its already budding female flowers so I'm all happy like yay a female so I continue to check the other 15 and all female no sign of balls anywhere super stoked wish I knew strain takes forever from seed lol and I can tell its indica/sativa some plants are way more indica dominate in looks and growth and others are more sativa dominate I will have pics soon

Oh and I don't want you to think that I say there all female because not showing signs of balls its because they are all flowering bud not pollen sacs just wanted to ad that so you didn't think I'm some noob kinda am to indoor but been out door for years lol

Interesting. Do you think the seeded plant self-pollinated? I know you said no sign of balls, but 16/16 females would make me think feminized seeds. But like I said, interesting all the same.

Lol you'd guys actually I was told that even if no males or Hermie if the plant goes long enough it will produce seed by itself something at the very bottom of the plant not sure never heard of that but ya let's do this

It will produce seed all by itself, by producing pollen sacs right inside the flower. Those seeds often produce female plants with a high probability of hermaphroditism.

Some folks say they are more hermie prone, others disagree. I don't know either way for sure so I misspoke. Hopefully it's not true.

I pulled 16 males out of 20 plants from bag seeds and 4 Females.
I know feminised seeds if crossed will produce regular seeds.
I say he just had a lucky run.

I have read about a lone Female plant forcing pollen sacks to survive
because no male was around to pollinate it under rare circumstances.

Not all that rare as I understand it. That's what is happening when a female plant "Hermes" and that happens a good deal.
Or are we talking about two different things?

I have a degree in genetics, and I can assure you that you do not have 16 out of 16 females just by chance. The odds are nearly impossible. Still an incredibly lucky find. Roll with it.

Right on. Is there science behind that? I ask because I've obviously heard different things. I'd like more definitive proof if it's available. Not to argue, just to clarify. Thanks

OK so I got pics sorry about the 110,000 lumens of Metal halide glare in all the pics had some problems and had to defoliate way more than I like but are slowly bouncing back into flower oh and got rid of two smaller females took them out and put them back into veg for the simple fact that they are like 4 1/2 months old and about 8" tall super stunt I call them the mini's so might transplant to see if I can save if not oh well I got 14 more some flowering more than others but that's not really a problem either

OK so this is my first indoor grow I gotta lot of stretch in between nodes I don't see why I have a 1000w MH w/110,000 lumens any ideas on what I should do about it should I cut all the lower stuff(lollipop) off and focus on cola's or what already flowering and need this harvest pretty bad any tips appreciated
