If You Could Grow/Live Anywhere...

Where would you choose, and why?. I've been thinking about this in-depth, and would have to choose this country. The reasoning is simple, I have already lived there twice and could easily get away with growing. Politics are all based upon payoffs, yet there is very little actual governing of people. No driver's licensing, not even a national 911 system. Even the legal system is much different. For example, you get drunk and injure someone you aren't charged with a DUI. The victim has to first file a complaint, then you're ordered to pay restitution. And if you don't pay, then they toss you in jail. This is just one of many differences tourists don't see. The DR has become a popular spot for what are called ExPats, and they allow foreign citizens to openly carry firearms...something they don't allow Dominican citizens.

What they don't show in this promo vid is the 75% of population living below the poverty line. Geologically, this country is just like the U.S...only the size of the state of Georgia. And the beaches barring Santo Domingo(the only dump in the DR)are simply better than Florida.

Japan is nice.

After traveling the world extensively, in my misspent youth, I'm staying right here :) My trips to the banana republics left me unimpressed.

Interesting choice, not sure if I could ever get used to the on-going earthquake/tsunami threat though. Hurricanes give plenty of advanced notice, but I once had an earthquake shake my bed at 3AM...and that genuinely scared the hell out of me.

Right here where I live now..

I'm in a legal state with pretty decent regs on MJ
we have a great growing climate (cen valley) was able to grow over our winter in this GH
never too windy here or too cold or rain for more then a day or 2 and then it's light..

only bummer is the summer temp up to 115 at times.. and from about july -sept day time temps are 90-100 so yeah that kinda sucks..

You'd like this place then, elevation 3,800 ft. I rarely even visited beaches in the DR, preferred the mountains where temps generally stay under 85 year round.

I would grow and live in Southern Madagascar. That place is the bees knees. I should know. I from there.

Probably California. Near the coast, but not in a big busy city. Big Sur is absolutely beautiful, so are the Redwoods up north. I want to live on a good chunk of land with acreage and horses. I could also have a greenhouse and not have to worry half as much. Near the beach + near the mountains + great weather + horses = the perfect place to live. I also wouldn't mind living in New Zealand... it's so beautiful!!

If I had the choice of ANYWHERE, I would want to live somewhere under the Earths surface, but with easy access to the top.

Love that state, bike rode twice from Gunnison to Buena Vista to Aspen...only I wasn't in good enough shape to ride up Independence pass(or Monarch for that matter).

Had to walk those. Also rafted down the Arkansas river, Buena Vista was my fav place, has a Midwestern feel to it.

West coast, never been there but the growing conditions seem to be far out :) I dearly love Amsterdam but its expensive and cold a lot of the year.

Since we just bought a house I guess I am staying where I am for now. But one of these days I am going out west!
