What kind of light should I use?

My next grow after the one I just started, is needing a lighting source. Please vote in the poll above for your favorite or which one you would want to see a grow under.

Edit: I should add that I do not care about cost or energy use. Just whichever ones you think will produce the best result.

from start to finish ??????? one light ? of veg then flower. we need more info. hps wo;; stretch the vegging plants like a bitch. mh good for veg . cfl great for veg. plasma way over priced. led garbage. for flower. hps big yield ok quality. cfl flower ok quality lower yield . mh best quality ever smaller yield. plasma waste of money . led. you would never get it vegged lol . but to start to finish. im worried about profit. I guess sence I have to veg for 2 monts killing the electric. use a 400 mh start to finish. pull what ever it produces.

Either keep it simple with MH then HPS or get a little fancy and mix them throughout...

Originally I did MH in Veg and HPS in flower but then I began getting lazy and left the HPS in the entire time and noticed it made no difference, so I continue to do this.

Never heard of this one. Looked some up on Ebay and it almost as expensive as plasma. Does it outperform plasma?

I'd say yes induction floro but never tried plasma (but I also feel CMH is better than plasma.)
They have less heat , no Pucks to buy every yr or 2,
But warrenty returns go to china an take a few weeks. 5 yr warranty which they honnor.
Riant lamps have better specta than other induction floro , and are half the price of the USA ones.
265mhtz ballast (flicker free!). Three are cheeper LVd ones from alibaba

What you left out were HO-VHO T5's. They are a great fixture, and a 8 lamp HO competes with a MH 400W system, and a VHO beats it, in my opinion

If heat is an issue then LED, plasma or maybe CMH. One does need to be a little careful when buying the new technologies. They can be much better but there are lots of con artist manufacturers out there. If you think that you might want LED, plasma or maybe CMH then I'd spend some time on the LED forum talking with folks who are familiar with alternative lighting. I'd say that if heat is no issue and you don't care about long term costs then eyeblue MH for veg and HPS for flower. I chose LED because I wanted no heat issues and long term savings and have been very happy with my choice...but I can tell you now that I wasted not a dime or a minute of my time on cheap chinese junk.

I would go hps all the way. don't listen to people that tell you it stretches them mine always grow less stretchy with hps than mh. hps stacks nodes nicely. cfls veg nice but I wouldn't flower with nothing but hps...

t8 or t12 for veg, HPS for flowering.

I feel like t5s just cost too much considering you can get 4 foot shoplights for like 10 dollars that fits 2 40W 4 foot t8's or t12s, and those tubes are way cheaper. I've been using t12s forever so it's going to be hard to really convince me thinner tubes are just that much better.

i use hps+mh in one. pretty good results. 30 %mh 70% hps

I am not impressed with T-5's (maybe for veg).

HO T5's are good, VHO t5's are great. Excellent light penetration, when the fixture is 4" above the canopy. I swap bulbs from 6500k to 2700k for bloom, and get outstanding results, even comparing it to my 1000w HPS. Check out my 2012 Grow album, where most of those plants were done under VHO t5's.

Nothing has been shown to outperform a 1k setup dialed. 2# a light minimum you can expect.
