Hey bro, thought I would pop in... I don't use these off amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000BSHLKI but that's what I use to tie down plants without tying or anything, quick and easy for readjusting... also I don't use a carbon filter or anything of the sort and I have a lot of plants, I grow heavy sativas (which are generally lower odor than indica) my plants only stink when they get hot, they smell wonderful taste wonderful and will stink up a room or car if not sealed after the dry/cure... my point is, your plants are doing great.
As for the tie-downs, I have seen growers use the soft-coated wires bending a hook shape on each end, one end goes over the branch and the other through the hole in the bucket. Can't get much easier than that. 
Anyway, just my thoughts.
